It's dumb how the quick loot menu doesn't say what resources each item contains. It compels you to pick up everything when you don't need to.
Agreed - although, when crafting you can set it to 'search' for items that contain the resource you're looking for. Looking for aluminium? Then anything with aluminium in it will have a little magnifying glass next to it.

I think that the Angry Joe Show did a great review that covers my thoughts for Fallout 4 quite well. I've spent about ten/fifteen hours in the world now and whilst I'm enjoying what I'm doing and finding it pleasant enough, it's not got the same grab that Fallout 3 had for me. With that said, I did spend two hours last night building up Sanctuary quite a bit. I've gotten the people to 70% happiness somehow so that's good. Got to build more food, water and beds and I've put juke boxes all round the place as well to cheer them up.

I'm gonna leave the game for a while and come back once some patches/mods are out.

Played about 5 hours of this, and I'm done. It's done absolutely nothing to draw me in, or excite or entice me. My impressions from the leaks are basically untouched, it's just a mediocre as all hell game. It gives me the exact same feeling as playing Skyrim does; of just not giving a fuck. Not sure if I'll ever buy it and give it another chance, possibly if there's a game drought at some point but for now I have zero interest in playing it. If I had to try to explain why I don't like this game at all, I guess it would be two major reasons.

Firstly I don't think I really like the way 4 has shifted from the rest of the series. I'm not fond of the setting, I don't like the big emphasis on crafting, I don't like that the tone is even further removed from Fallout than 3 was, I don't like the dumbed down dialogue and voiced protagonist. It just doesn't even feel like Fallout anymore.

And secondly, Bethesda's continued design philosophy of "We're all about the bigger picture and the freedom, not the individually well crafted and refined parts" just makes me so weary that it's unbearable. The combat still just isn't there at all for a AAA 2015 game. I was really hoping it would be, but it's not. Their quantity over quality approach to games just simply doesn't work for me anymore. At this point Bethesda are my own personal most overrated game developer. I really hope they've at least got a different engine for the eventual Elder Scrolls VI and bring some major overhauls but I'm not holding a fraction of a breath.

Anyway, I bought Witcher 3's first DLC for $8, gonna play that instead.

I do find the weapon modding really tedious. Spent a while the other night just looking at it and having no idea what I could do. I wanted to put a scope from one gun onto another, but there was no easy way of doing that unless I trashed the whole weapon. It's a very confusing and tedious process. I do kinda wish they took one of the 'better' ideas from Borderlands and had randomly designed weapons around the place.

You've no idea just how retarded it is! You have to build an empty weapon part. So you build.. nothing, and put that into your inventory. Then you can swap the nothing with the part you want to bring back into your inventory.

It's also a good trick if you want to trash a gun without trashing the part along with it.

Remember when Fallout was an RPG? :)

Fallout 3 wasnt a good RPG either.

Not that the silly argument matters, because all it really tries to do is legitimize a game above "Action/Shooter" like as if "RPG" is a superior genre played by intellects or whatever.

Pff, action and shooter game fans probably don't even own a single fedora or trenchcoat. Uncultured plebs.

True. I'm replaying Fallout 1 at the moment and that doesn't seem as good as I remember it being either.

I view RPG as a genre whereas shooter is a delivery method. So an action shooter would be different to an RPG shooter. Fallout 1, 2 and tactics felt more rpg than action. Fallout 3 and 4 feel more like action rpg shooters - they sort of dabble in everything.

You should play Wasteland 2. I hear that's supposed to be just like Fallout used to be. I really need to replay Crusader as well. That's not an RPG but I quite liked it from way back when.

I don't like Fallout because it's an RPG - I don't think it's really that deep of an RPG - I just enjoy the setting and the possibilities on offer. Fallout 3 was a heck of a lot of fun, including the DLC which was great. I think once I'm done with Fallout 4 I might go back and play Fallout: New Vegas.

Isn't Danganropa just a dancing game about a panda who is cosplaying as Two Face from Batman? He's gotta dance dance dance whilst the characters from the Persona series watch.

So I somehow ended up siding with the Minute Men last night - didn't know it was going to happen so early, but it's happened now. I'm working hard on building up my base - it's at 75% happiness right now - and going out and periodically clearing raider camps til I'm ready to go back to Diamond City and pick up that storyline again.

Yeah I enjoyed Wasteland 2. It's certainly closer to Fallout 1 and 2 than anything Bethesduhhh have ever done, but it's definitely different and removed in it's own ways, as I'm sure Fallout 1 and 2 were to the original Wasteland.

One of the guys on the AD Facebook groupd didn't take kindly to all the questions. Didn't end well for the people of covenant. For some reason his solution reminded me of MJ and Red Panda!

I went there early in the game. I have going through side missions (finished all the Minute men ones). It is annoying that you have to upgrade hacking/ lock picking otherwise you cannot complete some of the missions. I thought the building of your towns would have been much better (tool suck and it is just plain boring).
