I grabbed the Lifeline series which are currently on sale for 20c each. Not bad. I like the concept but the writing is pretty average. It's a written story you read in somewhat real time. An astronaut has crash landed on another planet but has managed to establish communications with you on your phone. You can advise what course he/she should take (like a choose your own adventure story) however some tasks take time so you have to wait for a notification to pop up when the astronaut is ready to continue. Quite a clever idea.

I've also started playing Clash of Clans. Time to see what makes this more than just a micro transaction game. Not bad so far. Not as good as Clash Royale but it's a different beast.

Murderer!

Nope, no invite here, but I also didn't apply.
I think the game said something about the pokemon fainting, but from what I've played so far they may as well be dead. Health recovery items seem quite rare, and the pokemon don't recover on their own. I guess this is something that will get tweaked as the beta progresses.

Also, the guy must have murdered my pokemon in order to take over the gym in the first place.

New Humble Bundle Mobile deal up:

Pat $7 or more and get This War of Mine on mobile. I have most of the other games, but tempted to grab it just for that.

I recently started playing The Sims Freeplay. Damn this game is addictive... and good! Those Firemonekys guys have certainly mastered taking console level graphics to a phone and utilising the interface/platform well! Well... in Real Racing 3 and the Sims Freeplay they have anyways

Work for that money you filthy sims... work!

Yeah, it's not bad. I'm not sure if it's a game I'll be comfortable playing on my mobile... but... it's also not one I'm sure I'll be jumping into on PS4 any time soon either.

I finished off Plants vs Zombies 2 recently (well, I assume I've finished it: the last world added seemed like a climax, and was mostly reusing old content). I hadn't played the game in about 2.5 years, and it looked quite different on returning. Back then I think they'd just opened up the fourth world, but I couldn't be arsed trying to unlock it. Coming back to the game, it was a lot easier to unlock worlds and progress. And the new plants helped finish off some of the levels in the old worlds.

While it was enjoyable, one annoying part was that they still had unexpected difficulty spikes, where one level would feel like it couldn't be completed without power ups, followed by a number of levels I could complete on first go without much strategy. These are the sort of thing that would probably be considered bugs in games that aren't trying to sell you microtransactions. There were also some plant combos that could make many levels trivial. For example, five magnifying grass plus as many of your best sun producing plant as you can make.

Now I'm playing a puzzle game called Transmission that has you building up networks between a set of nodes. While it started out fairly trivial, the later levels are quite tricky.

Despite it making me feel like a complete moron I'm playing Pythagorea. It's a really fun, free geometrical shape puzzle game where you must solve puzzles by drawing points and/or lines on a grid.

As with maths at school I'm finding that my biggest hurdle is trying to understand the questions - not finding the actual solutions (although it was a strain trying to remember some of the old methods)

Android - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hil_hk.pythagorea&hl=en
iOS - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pythagorea-geometry-on-squared/id994864779?mt=8

Just grabbed this. Really enjoying it so far (my toilet break enabled me to get up to the end of "Computer World") :)
