I think scores are good if only because Metacritic is really useful.

And yeah I'm saying put the score on the review page but not the header.

Professional reviews are a misleading, corrupt, capitalist prodding tool used to keep us consumer cattle in line for the interests of big business.

User reviews are 50% fanboyism, 50% rectal overflow.

Fuck_Giver.exe has stopped working!
Does it matter how I write the truth?

My Most Disappointing game I have played is Child of Light. Hot Garbage.

Put me off trying Valiant Hearts after hearing the puzzle design in it are really poor.
The puzzle design isn't phenomenal in Valiant Hearts, but that's not the point of the game. It's much more than being a puzzle solving game. It's a war game first and foremost - or even a history game.

I'm keen for that vote badge, so here's my votes...

1) Watch_Dogs (PC)
2) Sunset Overdrive (Xbox One)
3) Broken Age: Act 1 (Ouya)

I didn't get sucked in to all the hype surrounding Watch_Dogs pre-release, which is probably why I'm not as angry as many others seem to be with it. At first, it did feel just like any other open-world game, but I soon experienced its unique gameplay elements that made it so much more. For example, when you're evading authorities and hack a steam pipe at just the right moment to make it fly over your head - that's gold, Jerry. Gold. As for the claims of it being a broken, buggy and ugly mess of a game, either my system was lucky and ran it flawlessly or people are just nit picking the smallest things.

Much like Watch_Dogs, I went in with no expectations with Sunset Overdrive. In fact, I went in not really knowing anything about the game at all. I've since found it's a bright, fresh and very funny game. It's nice to finally have a reason to play the Xbox One!

Finally, Broken Age. I'm just a point-and-click adventure and Double Fine fan boy. Nothing much else to add here.

How does one hack a steam pipe exactly? Aren't they mostly just... well... pipe?

I didn't play many games that were also made this year, but out of the ones I did, I guess these were my favourites:

1. South Park: The Stick of Truth - probably as good an adaptation of the series as I could hope for
2. The Wolf Among Us - Telltale did a good job on this one
3. Broken Age - even though it was only half a game, it was a good half.

I think the only other games from this year I've played are Infamous Second Son (which I just completed today), and Spacebase DF-9 (which was looking promising until they declared it done).

Watch_Dogs very nearly made it into my top three. I had no issues at all with the PS4 version. Once I had a better grasp of the game mechanics, it was really fun! I should buy the DLC while it's on sale.

Put hackable steam pipes in the same category as floating platforms in Mario Bros. or jumping into a pile of hay in Assassin's Creed. Watch_Dogs is at its best when you consider it as a set of unique game mechanics attached to a realistic environment; compared to other open world games that aim for more realism during enemy encounters.

I think it all depends on how much a game strives for realism. Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs I would assume are trying for a more realistic approach than Mario... and the floating platforms was the one thing you picked weird about that game? lol

Ok it's up

http://www.anotherdungeon.com/2014-games-year/

tl;dr? Here's mine

1st Place : Dark Souls 2
2nd Place : Transistor
3rd Place : Divinity : Original Sin
I know it's too late to change (and doesn't change the result in any case) but, if I could, I'd bump Divinity and replace it with Valiant Hearts. That game was amazing. Not a particularly difficult game but enough gameplay to still be called a game whilst presenting wonderfully and telling a great story. Amazing title.
