Yeah he thrashed him. Magneto only has about 3k more health. Demolition trap wipes half his health if he matches while all are up. Escape plan does 3415 damage with just 3 covers (4th cover lets you steal 9 AP if you keep the countdown tile alive. Since both characters need the same colour AP for their moves it meant I didn't have to match other colours to stop him attacking.

Got Wolverine yellow cover from the token (first ever cover for him outside the daily resupply).

I'd been getting all 2* covers from my Venom event tokens, until the most recent one when I got a blue 4* Falcon cover (bringing him up to 0/2/0). I also got an Invisible Woman cover from the daily rewards, so by the look of it I should be getting Devil Dinosaur in a few weeks.

With the introduction of 4* Deadpool Daily Quest battles, it looks like there was a slight change to the vault contents: the first 4* cover in the vault seems to be for a fixed character now, matching the character required on the fifth day of the round. So last week's vault has Nick Fury in that position, and this week's has Invisible Woman. My IW has one cover for the invisibility power, so perhaps that might give me a shot. That's assuming the opponent doesn't have abilities that damage the whole team.

Edit: also got a purple Deadpool (count down to what) from the legendary token from the Venom event.

Using her Invisible move I was able to beat Quicksilver (even though she was just level 127). Got a Blue Thor cover from the Token.

My Invisible Woman is covered as 1/2/0, so she didn't go too well. I don't have green, which is her only offensive power, so I was limited to match damage. Using the blue power is deadly too, since my force bubbles power Quicksilver's blue power. So I was essentially limited to going invisible and then hoping I'd be able to manage Qucksilver's locked tiles.

Despite not having been able to beat this yet, this has been a lot more interesting than the last two matches. While chance still plays a role, it feels a bit more strategic.

I just went invisible and just matched his locked tiles (I have her at 2/2/2). I put +100% match damage as well as +50% damage for 4 of the colours so I was matching his damage, didn't need to use her other moves. I was very lucky her invisible tile survived the whole match (I got it very quickly in the match).

Not sure if you guys will see this one in time. I am fighting getting the 3* cover in todays DPD mission. I can't seem to find the right combination of characters to use.

Any advice/strategy to use? Never have had this big of a problem before.

I use pretty much the same strategy for other days. I wiped out once today, but got it the second time around with my 2* team of Black Widow, Storm, and Thor. I targeted the ninjas first (since their damage is proportional to the number of enemies, and they have lower health), and made sure the Muscle never got out his strike tiles (which will quickly kill you when combined with the attack tiles you get from killing the ninjas). I took damage from the attack tiles, but got rid of them eventually with Storm's green.

Also, take some boosts into the match to help out the early game. Taking two blue/purple stockpile boosts will cost you 80 Iso and lets you use Black Widow's powers that much sooner. If you don't want to try different teams, some team-ups can help too. For instance, Daredevil's Radar Sense or Bullseye's Lethal Improvisation can help remove hard to reach attack or strike tiles.

I like my team of Black Widow, Thor and Magneto as his purple creates Blue and feeds Black Widows heal. But just can't seem to get any footing to make and progress and it's pissing me off. lol

I guess you might be hurting because there is no purple AP to steal in the first round (only red, yellow and blue).

With that team Black Widow would be strongest in purple, so you'd often be getting 4 AP from each purple match due to Espionage. With one or two blue/purple stock pile boosts, two purple matches would get you enough to fire Magneto's purple. With this enemy line-up Magneto's purple is going to be 3 purple matches, which is significantly slower.

You should still be able to fire Black Widow's Purple after two purple matches with the boosts though, so perhaps that'd be a better early game strategy to get the blue AP you need.

Other than that, I don't really have any other suggestions. You would have faced exactly the same enemies 10 days ago, and probably beat them then. Just try again and hope for a better starting board.

I always use Thor, Storm and Falcon.

I quickly get blue matches to activate Falcons passive move. Then try and get pink matches to get Bird Strike, then match yellow to activate inspiration and build up Thor's move. I only use Storm as back-up with Wind Storm (don't use her green, I save those to hit the heroes with 2 Call the Storm). I actually targeted Muscle first to stop him beefing up the Ninjas attacks. It also means you won't have to worry about them dropping attack tiles when they die until later (by then you will have beefed your defense, I was only taking 1 damage from their tiles).

I do this everyday and have not lost since I got Thor to level 166, months ago.

I got a Blue cover the 4 star Hulkbuster, then I got a legendary token (both from Taco tokens) and got his red cover. Only have him at 1/1/3 so I probably won't beat the other 4 star character.

Man, finally got it. That was seriously frustrating.

I did the whole "This is my last try" on it and that was when I got it. I went it with no Team ups, just a +2 to everything, a +2 to Blue/Purple, and the a +all Damage boost x3. Once I got past the 1st match of the hero room, I was fine sailed right through the rest. But I used a lot of resources today on that. Blah.

Another character that can help for this kind of thing is Loki: cast his black, and the Muscle's strength 400 strike tiles turn into friendly strength 400 protect tiles. However, his green probably won't see much use during the match since the enemy doesn't make any matches during the goon rounds. Perhaps he would make a reasonable team-up for the match though.

I certainly found Loki useful for a few of the hard matches in the last Simulator event. In one of the matches, the enemy team was Invisible Woman, Mr Fantastic and The Thing. Using Loki, Storm and Cyclops, I used Cyclops's red to attack Invisible Woman which caused Thing to jump to the front to take the damage and create some powerful protect tiles. Loki could then convert those tiles into friendly strike tiles, allowing me to finish the match quite quickly.

They've released details of the anniversary event that kicks off next Thursday:

http://www.polygon.com/2015/10/1/9429395/marvel-puzzle-quest-birthday-galactus-boss-fight-year-two-second

Some details:

* An Ultron-style event battling against Galactus
* Two new characters being released: Cyclops (in his blue and yellow costume from the 90s) and Red Hulk (Thunderbolt Ross). Cyclops is a 4* character, so I assume Red Hulk is the second 5*.
* A free token for anyone who logs in during the event
* Return of Devil Dinosaur (about a week before I get him from the daily rewards)
* A tournament featuring all characters released in 2015.
