I hardly ever get hit by bosses. Virtually all the challenge comes from getting to them. Then again, I still haven't experienced the Maneaters or the False King, which are apparently immune to magic. I also still have Old Monk to encounter, who I gather is supposed to be an invading human player if you're playing online, so that's bound to be tough. I beat the King of Storms last night, which only leaves me with about 4 proper areas and a few arch demons. I'm actually running out of game just when I'm getting properly good. It could have done with another world. Edited by Sir Goodfellow, Apr 19 2014, 02:29 PM.

Argh. The worst boss death is when you're following a pattern successfully but get greedy with your hits towards the end and it strikes back. Sorcery might be easy in Dark Souls but I can guarantee there's nary a fight where a boss wouldn't hit you. |

Serious question: how the hell do the fake illusory wall messages get so many ratings? |

People open up the message and then go to hit X (or A on xbox I guess) to open the wall and rate the message instead. |

I'm almost certain that on Xbox the default option in messages is "Cancel", meaning the players are just idiots, and I bet among them are the same two idiots who died when I tried to help them beat Demon of Song, the easiest fucking piece of shit in the whole series. |

What build are you doing? Pure melee builds can have quite a bit of trouble with it because of that fucking grab attack. Plus nothing is easier than Jabba the Hutt and Prowling Magus. |

Pure melee build really. Strength is my highest stat. Demon of Song is the only boss where I could simply circle around it and it couldn't make contact. After it's attacks I could lay in 3 hits. The single hit it made (which I blocked) was with its jump in the air. Jabba the Hutt? I'm drawing a blank. Prowling Magus was really easy though, which was surprising because it initially is very daunting. |

What makes the messages 'illusory'? Demon's has plenty of annoying ones. By far the most common and irritating is 'I'm in trouble. Please recommend this message', which always seems to have upwards of 100 ratings. I wonder if it's just one prick leaving the same message over and over again, or if it's a group of retards setting out to annoy everyone. But why would anyone rate that nonsense as helpful? |

They're indicating that the walls are illusory and there are passages behind them. |

Having messages rated actually does help you out, I forget how it works in Demon's Souls but in Dark Souls 2 whenever you get a message rated you get healed by a considerable amount (I think 50% of your max health). So people put those messages down when they're having trouble and the idea is to rate them and give them some help. |

Huh, I had no idea it actually gave you health. Still, they can't be in any imminent danger if they have time to put the message down. You'd think it'd be easier and quicker to just scoff down some full moon grass like the rest of us. God knows there's no shortage of healing items in the game. I like the messages that tell me about the treasure ahead or warn me of a tough enemy. Begging for health simply doesn't strike me as the proper use of the system. |
