Oh Jeez I see what you mean. Slaughtered in about 5 seconds! Didn't help I was fooled by all the "bonfire ahead" messages and just ran forward. Lol

Edit: This isn't too bad actually. Just take my time, eliminate the statues and firebomb / fire arrow those sludge pits and I'm ok. As an added bonus it seems I acan resst at a bonfire, refiull my estus, and the statues stay smashed. Enemies respawn but they're not overly difficult. It's the poison spitters that are hassling me.

Edit 2 : I didn't see much wrong with the Gulch. Really short area that's easy if you go slow, bonfire right before boss and.. as far as I can tell, nowhere to go afdter that :( Damn.

There's a secret-ish area you can get to. If you're at the second bonfire then go outside the cave and stand at the end of the cliff. Walk as if you're going back towards the beginning on the area, all the while looking down the cliff. Eventually you'll see a little ledge down there that you can drop or jump to (don't remember which you have to do). A few more drops and jumps after that you'll find the dark covenant guy again (or for the first time if you haven't seen him yet) and then after that a big open area with two giants in it. Kill them for there souls (but don't use them, they're important later) and there are some decent items around including a key I'm pretty sure.

There is also another ledge below the cliff just after the first bonfire that leads to an NPC and maybe an item I don't recall.

Well I'm back in the foggy bit getting raped by minotaurs and giant bug eyed things now. I'll go back and look in the gulch when I feel up to slowly, painstakingly clearing my path to a fall to my dreeath alter :)

I can't find it :(

Edit... nevermind. Use a torch Dave! derp.

Edit2 : After I hide in the cave and kill of the giants with arrows like a pansy... how do I get back up?

Some of these larger bosses (spider and rat) are making me rethink my melee focus. Quite annoying trying to keep track of what's going on when you can't even see your target due to it's range/speed of movement

Oh fuck, just got the biggest fright! Wasn't paying attention when I started it up (crashed when I alt tabbed to this forum). Started a new game. Thought it had overwritten my one save slot but, thankfully, when I choose continue it now asks me which game I want to play. Phew. Thought I'd lost 40 odd hours of work for a second there!

When I got this it said it was a great soul however the image is the same as regular boss souls. Is this soul not one of the greats?

Stuck in this one stupid room in Drangelic Castle. I think killing the guards is meant to open doors/activate states however it doesn't always seem to work. Driving me nuts and I'm having a great deal of trouble surviving for some reason.

You have to kill enemies near those big statues.

I tried that. Was a little buggy. If I was too close or too far away it didn't seem to work

Can anyone help me here? I've cleared out the previous areas, removed all gravestones I can see, killed the ghoul things ringing the bells but, whenever I get into this hall, someone keeps ringing a damn bell and summoning ghosts.

I lured the dudes at the other end of the hallway with my bow and got rid of them but the other guys are taking cheap shots as I enter the fog. If I beat them they still respawn when I enter. Quite frustrating
