You should see my facebook page. It's almost like a screenshot of each area and part as I progress.

In a foggy area now getting beaten up by minotaurs and wondering if I should de-petrify a guy guarding a doorway. Was meant to go to the Iron Keep after poison headless snake lady I think but I found two of those de-petrify things in my inventory and remembered that chick from the start... that chick is a dirty whore though! Saved her, gave her clothes then she just stands by whilst I get gang raped by a bunch of monsters! This was obviously before I got the ring :) I grabbed that after dying, spawning, trying to jump down the well, dying, spawning, deciding to harvest some Heide's giants for souls

I really hate the run from the bonfire to the Smelter Demon. The black knights can sneak in jabs as you run by and there's a good chance the one in front of the fog door will break your entrance animation.

I've played a friends console version briefly and, from what I can see, the only benefit is that it takes a few seconds to load menus, levels, respawns rather than about 30. For me that's well and truly enough of a win.

Only downside of PC is that it runs the same graphics as console (I was hoping for better) and that mine tends to crash if I alt tab out of it. The latter is the only real problem of course. Probably wouldn't be an issue if I didn't have dual screens and see notifications I want to check whilst waiting for my health to regen... coz I'm a tight bastard who wasnts to save his stones for boss fights.

Another downside of sorts is that you really need a controller to play it properly. KM works however the controls are clunky and, even if a controller isn't plugged in, all the on screen prompts show Xbox controller buttons. They really half arsed it.

tl;dr - Load times are approximately 10% of console. 3 seconds vs 30. With how often you die this is kinda important

Loads times are much quicker, plus the FPS isn't capped at 30fps (it goes to 60 instead I believe). I wouldn't normally care about the fps but going form PS3 to PC was very noticeable and I'm not sure if I could go back, it makes a big difference especially in a game like Dark Souls.

Also Chickan's wrong about there being no graphical improvements. There are higher resolution textures and higher screen resolution options. If you don't mind modding the game you can get it looking really pretty too.

The KBAM controls aren't all that great though so you're better off plugging in a controller. I use a free program that lets you plug your PS3 control in via USB and use that.

This is more of a minor difference but you don't have to use an account name as your identification when playing online. When you invade, for example, the other player will see your character's name instead of an account name. Doesn't make too much of a difference but I've seen some funny characters like a bunch of dudes names Donatello etc dressed up as the Ninja Turtles. The name censoring is really bad though, it censors words like ho and nig even if their in the middle of another word so your name comes out as T**mas or K***ht.

Wow, my side by side had them looking pretty similar although I must admit I didn't do an extensive comparison as it wasn't my copy of DS2 :)

The Gutter, Black Gulch and Harvest Valley make me wonder why the developers thought Blighttown of all places was the one they should draw inspiration from. (That said, I like Blighttown once you reach that second bonfire).

Was there any point to killing this big spider slug thing just before the first fog? Felt a bit cruel as it was stuck in a wall chomping down on something or other and offered no defence. That said I have a feeling it might be one of those things that makes the boss a little easier

Oh Jeez I see what you mean. Slaughtered in about 5 seconds! Didn't help I was fooled by all the "bonfire ahead" messages and just ran forward. Lol

Edit: This isn't too bad actually. Just take my time, eliminate the statues and firebomb / fire arrow those sludge pits and I'm ok. As an added bonus it seems I acan resst at a bonfire, refiull my estus, and the statues stay smashed. Enemies respawn but they're not overly difficult. It's the poison spitters that are hassling me.

Edit 2 : I didn't see much wrong with the Gulch. Really short area that's easy if you go slow, bonfire right before boss and.. as far as I can tell, nowhere to go afdter that :( Damn.
