Is that the thing that uses the Pharros stone? I didn't want to waste it so I figured I'd hold on to my precious 1 for now.

I thought she might be useful when she said I could call on her any time for help. Shit dialogue but it got the point across :)

Hey if someone comes into my game and we beat a boss does it still split the number of souls received? and, where that was leading, if I summon her do I have to split the reward?
As far as I know your reward doesn't change and they get rewarded separately

How do you summon her? I fought the first boss and spoke to her again learning

Spoiler: click to toggle
but haven't been able to call her for help yet.

Yeah I know I could look this shit up but I'm concerned about spoilers. I know the story isn't overly in depth but I don't wanna read other people's methods. I enjoy working it out in this kind of game

This invasion shit is really beginning to bug me. In Belry's Tower (hope I got the name right) and it's bloody hard to progress when there are heavily OP people invading my game and one hit killing me. Really starting to ruin the experience. :(

Except for the boss, Belfry's Tower is specifically for invasions. Anyone who's part of the covenant can be summoned there if someone enters the area (however phantoms can't enter the boss fight). It's part of the experience, though I guess you could bum rush through there if you wanted or play offline.

I really enjoyed the invasions personally.

Ah I see now. It seems to be a very short area. Still shitting me though as I speed run thru only to have someone take away 75% of my health as I slowly ap[ass thru the fog :(

That plus these fuckign gargoyles have got me honestly pissed with the game for the first time.

Two questions about Dark Souls: Do better catalysts increase your magic damage, like will soul arrows become more powerful? Also does raising the intelligence stat improve magic damage or only magic defense?

I reached Knight Artorias and I can barely make a dent even with my strongest magycks.

In DeS at least, better catalysts do increase magic damage. Raising the intelligence stat only increases the magic bar/number of casts, and gives you extra spell slots. It has nothing to do with the amount of damage you can do. For that, you need to keep increasing your magic/faith stat and/or find a more powerful catalyst.

Did you ever find any magical weapons? I found they did wonders when it wasn't practical to use spells.

I'm pretty sure that in Dark Souls intelligence and faith are simply a means to different spells (offense-based sorcery and defense-based miracles) that otherwise raise your magic defense equally. My problem is probably my catalyst, though it's the best one available to me in my inventory unless I increase my intelligence to a degree I really can't manage at this point. All that's available to me is Knight Artorias and the final boss, so there's no reasonable way I can raise my stats. Might just leave it at that. I think I'm finally getting a little tired of Dark Souls anyway.

I found an Enchanted Falchion. It's the best magical weapon I can equip with my meager strength and dexterity. It's a piece of crap against Artorias though.

Interesting. In Demon's, the power of the offensive spells was governed by a separate magic stat, while intelligence only increased the MP.

MP is different in DS. There's a stat called attunement that gives you more slots to equip spells the higher you raise it (I believe it also increase magic defense), so if you want to double your soul arrows you buy an extra one from a merchant and place them both in a slot each, raising your total from 30 to 60.
