I'm probably gonna keep talking about it until I finish DS2 (and I'm still a ways from finishing DS1) so I'll stop cluttering the other thread with my musings. I was already gonna go online for DS2 but the Crystal Cave made me bite the bullet with those invisible pathways. It seems pretty sparse at this point, with plenty of messages but no summon signs or answers to my own summon signs. I'm guessing DS2 is much more inhabited right now? I kinda wanna play it while it still is. Also are those ghosts that appear (unprompted by bloodstains) other people in real-time? Anyway I reached Seath, was killed, thought screw this and now I'm in Sanctuary Garden. |

Yeah DS2 is pretty populated, and will be for some time. Yes to ghosts as well. |

I was too overpowered for Tomb of the Giants but got the impression that it would be hard as hell if you weren't. |

Father of the Abyss is the most frustrating boss since the gargoyles. I have come close so. many. times. |

Man, I had no idea this game was so rare. It's the only Souls game not available for download on PSN, and there isn't a single copy anywhere in Wollongong central. I thought there'd be loads of used ones at least, but nope. Is a shame. I had my heart set on starting it tonight. Might have to play Demon's Souls instead for now. |

It's available on Live for $30 if you've still got a 360. |

I may still have a functioning 360, but no way to connect it to the internet, so it's either PS3 or nothing. I did find a brand new copy for $20 on ebay (from Hong Kong), but I've come to dislike ordering games online. Who knows how I'll feel in a week? I wanna play it now, goddamn it! |

I briefly considered it both on PSN and in store today, but I'm ultimately not quite desperate enough to pay $90 for the privilege (especially since Demon's Souls is only $25). Besides, the Eurogamer review repeatedly makes the point that DS2 isn't quite the masterpiece DS was. I briefly got excited about The Last of Us as well today, assuming it would be no more than $50 by now, but it's still $90! It's insane. |

Man, $90 for one game. I can't believe I thought that was normal and OK as a kid. |

Haha, so my paralyzing indecision about settling for Demon's Souls led me to yahtzee, who just made me even more indecisive than I was before. It's a pretty hilarious review though: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/1321-Demons-Souls. Of course, he loved Dark Souls, the one utterly unavailable to me : http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/8802-Dark-Souls

I just entered the Kiln and made sure I'd fought every boss...haven't fought Gwyndolin. Off there next (before Gwyn). I have an urge to finish the game tonight and jump right into DS2.

Is there any way in-game and offline of locating The Great Hollow? I mean is it hinted at anywhere? Finding it seems tailor-made for online play. I have this and then Gwyn and then I'm done ![]() Ash Lake feels like no other area in the game. Soothing in a way. Edited by Moo, Apr 6 2014, 11:38 PM.
