In this very average edition our team of self certified experts discuss the benefits and negatives of games where you hold right and occasionally jump (Rayman). We then move on to discuss the stupidly named "season pass" and round off the evening with our "most anticipated for 2014".

Have a beautiful time... whether you want to or not.

Well, Ash hasn't been using us in his battles, so we've not really evolved from being just regular old people to Andrewizard and Chickle.

(That joke went down better in my head.)

Well I listened to half of it on the way into work. The half I heard didn't impress me much.
I don't think I get podcasts though I'm sure they're all people talking shite. You seem to try and talk about a particular subject but then go off topic. I think you need some structure to it. Plus you seemed to dither on the Rayman Legends topic for too long you need to break it up.
It sounds like the Greg is talking through a fucking pillow which is also annoying.
You did use my $20 to see a movie price comparison so I give you kudos.
While I'm being a cunt, theres no point in rebranding it until you find your niche.

On a positive note Chamboosy says some funny shit, so do you Dave, Greg not so much.

Well we cover three topics so we could always put up three a week with a topic each. That way people could pick and choose what they want to listen to.
I listened through this episode, and I don't think producing multiple shorter episodes with the same information density would do the trick. When I suggested shortening it, I was thinking more about covering a similar amount of material but making better use of time.

There is a huge difference between being a participant in a conversation and being a passive observer. Lets say your friends went out to the pub without you and had an interesting discussion about something you were interested in. When you see them next, you ask what they talked about. Would you find it more useful to be given an hour long audio recording of the conversation, or for them to give you a summarised version of what happened?

For a podcast to be interesting, I think it needs to be a bit more than just a recording of an unstructured discussion. Either do a bit more preparation before hand, or do a bit more editing afterwards.

Your spelling is getting almost as bad as Chickan's.

I'd almost argue that's more punctuation than spelling but you're right its been going downhill.

You had a couple of one liners that I laughed at.
It's hard for you to soar like an Eagle when you're surrounded by Turkeys(or Chickans)

It really was a terrible joke which could have maybe been improved if you'd included Chickachu but it'd still be terrible.

Thanks for the feedback. It's all very valuable, very accurate and stuff we're aware of but, as yet, haven't been able to fix.

I think step 1 is to create a stronger structure
Step 2 would be to set a time limit on each and ensure everyone gets a say.
Step 3 is a host that can keep it on track
Step 4 is to keep it interesting and less... uninsteresting.

When we initially started it we wanted it to be a bit different to the "standard" video game podcasts. They all follow a similar format and the only difference between them is the people talking. I don't think any of us have a strong enough personality or audio presence to be interesting radio hosts... except maybe Jingles. Anyway so we decided to try and make ours more like a conversation.

Trick is, as Greg (I think) mentioned, you don't just want to talk about shit that listeners would talk about themselves. If you do that you're just asking users to listen to someone else having a conversation that they themsevles could just as easily have with their friends.

We have a couple of ideas for mixing it up

1. The "special" ep Tim was trying to talk up will be happening this week. It's a big stray from the norm and should prove interesting... fuckit, it'll be fun for us if nothing else.
2. I thought we could try it like a structured debate. Presented this idea to the guys and was met with a "we could try it and see how it goes" so I'm guessing they're not overly keen :) Anyway we'd have a topic and assign two of us to pro and two of us to con. Take it in turns to argue and rebutt for a minute or two each then let listeners decide who "won".

This post is meandering worse than the podcast but, another thing I thought was, we need to muck around more and be less serious. I don't think we have the personalities to discuss serious things in an entertaining way and a bit of back and forth sledging and arguing is always fun

Perhaps you could ask Tony Jones to host your podcast? He does a good job of stopping people from rambling or going too far off topic on Q&A. Or you could just use his catch-phrase "I'll take that as a comment".

I don't listen to a "standard' video game podcast so I don't know what the definition of "standard" is.

The problem with you guys turning it into a conversation is like any conversation it can go forever and tapers off from the subject matter too much.
I disagree that you don't want to talk about shit that people would want to talk about themselves. People like to listen to shit they talk about otherwise they wouldn't listen. That's debatable either way.

I defo think you should make it shorter.
Have some sort of formatting or make some segments that will get people interested.
Maybe try and pick a subject and you all have like a minute each to put your opinion forth or something and then spend time dissecting the opinions and find a general consensus on said subject.
