Coffee Machine; What do you use?

I recently grabbed an automatic machine to replace a manual one I've had for years (suggested by our very own Ben Smooth I might add) :). I know it's lazy but this was on special and the frother wand thing on my other one bit the dust.

I was a bit concerned in the shop as it only had a cappuccino button whereas I wanted lattes however, after watching this vid on the functionality of the unit, my mind was put at ease.

Not that it matters much for me as I have short or long blacks :)

What do you guys use? A machine at home? A cafe? Nescafe Blend 43? What's your coffee of choice and how do you get it?

I bought one of the Moka Pot's in Italy.

Absolutely fantastic and very easy to use! Best way to make coffee!

I drink iced coffee only. Something Americans have no idea how to make.

Yeah I love ours too but, for ease of use, I find the machines better :)

I drink coffee maybe once a fortnight, if that. When I do I just use Nescafe Gold for a quick and easy one that tastes fine. If I can be bothered (very rarely) I use this

We pretty much only use them for when people come over, so I'll have one too. My Mum doesn't care much for coffee and Dad has one a day but he just has the Nescafe, I don't think he can be bothered either. Kind of unusual for Italians but whatever.

I also think Nescafe Gold is actually good. People talk shit about Nescafe but that's because Blend 43 is bad. Seriously, if you have Nescafe, try the gold.

I drink Nescafe Gold twice a day. Boil water in kettle, two spoons of coffee one of sugar, dash of milk. Coffee definitely tastes better if you buy the right stuff and use cool machines but I'm really only interested in the kick of energy it gives me. I've grown dependent on it.

On the subject, I can't stomach a black coffee. Disgusting.

Just one spoon of coffee and no sugar for me, with a bit of milk. When it comes to espresso I have to put a couple of drops of milk in it. It's not particularly nice just straight. I can't put sugar in. People I know, like my uncles, put 2 - 3 teaspoons of sugar in theirs and I don't get it. I tried putting a quarter of a teaspoon in my coffee once and I nearly threw up, all I could taste was the sugar. I found that little bit of milk works well.

Also people like you Dave, who have to have their coffee every single day because they depend on the energy is exactly why I don't drink it often. I don't want to get to the point where I can't function and I get headaches because I need caffeine.

Twins. I've a Silvia as well, though no serious grinder at the moment. The cafe I work at is right at the end of my street, so I can grind beans on their Mazzers when I need to.

Do you live in Melbourne? If so, where would you get your Silvia serviced? My group head has cracked and it's causing some bad channeling and it's a pain to clean up after every coffee.

Moka pot for me as well. Simplest and most purest taste of consuming coffee.

For coffee itself, I usually buy from various coffee stores their varieties of whole beans, I grind enough of it to last me a few days to help maintain freshness.

Recently been doing coffee emporium beans and my most recent purchase was Rum and Butter flavour.

I don't depend on the energy. I just like the flavour and warmth to start my day. I often don't drink it on weekends or when I'm in a rush to get to work.

Coffee caffeine has zero effect on me now, im super tolerate towards it because I drink c4 pre work workout powder mix almost every day which has more caffeine content than 5 coffees would have.

I also drink 5 coffees on average a day.
