In the next few weeks I'm going to be looking for an audio system for my games room. The room is sized as follows

but doesn't have any doors at the rear despite what is shown in the plan. Because I'm an idiot I've recreated the house in Sims 3 and this is what the room will be set up like

Although there will be a small cabinet for the consoles and probably some glass display cabinets on the side. Not overly important though as I doubt they'll fuck with the acoustics. So, two Lay-Z-Boy recliners in the middle, a screen at the front and existing wiring for 7.1 surround sound.

Question is... any ideas on what I should get or who I could speak to for decent advice? I don't want to spend a fortune as I don't appreciate good audio like many others (bad hearing in one ear) but I don't intend to skimp either. Ideally I'll just run the TV audio out straight to the sound system then plug all the consoles direct into the TV; rather than having each device's audio go into the device. However I'm not 100% certain my TV offers surround sound throughput like that... so I could end up with a bunch of speakers playing stereo!

Any advice?
