You're ripping it up with the platinums lately. Watch out boys. |

I started getting back into the whole trophy hunt thing briefly. Tearaway and Hotline Miami reminded me why I should avoid it. Both had glitched trophies which ended with me playing a game past when lack of enjoyment would normally have had me moving on. Dunno why I keep falling into that trap. |

I'd agree that the "Climber" trophy in AC3: Liberation was badly balanced: if you complete everything in the game and are only 60% of the way there, then the value was badly chosen. It wasn't a skill based trophy, so it wasn't as if you could kid yourself that you were improving your performance while chasing it down. If I hadn't tried the rubber band trick, I wouldn't have bothered with it. I think the worst case I've seen was EA Sports Active 2, which has three bronze trophies for running, "cycling" and "skating" 1000 km respectively (all of which essentially involved a combination of jogging on the spot and some squats). I don't think the developers had a clear idea of what a kilometre was, since after ~ 4-5 months of workouts with the game, I don't think I'd made more than 5% of any of those goals. |

Another month, another update. Both Tag-Six and JamesH gained a level and scored platinum this month! Nice work (2 plats for James and 4 for Tag) |

The Deadpool platinum pushed me up to the next level. Despite all its faults, I really enjoyed it. Now I've started on Skyrim, since people seem to think it was pretty good. |

On PS3? Are you playing with the DLC? The further along you get the more buggy it becomes. |

Yeah. I managed to get through Fallout New Vegas though, so how bad can it be? |

True. Just long waiting times - the Thieves Guild quests are enjoyable enough but become tedious as they go along as (for me) there's sometimes a one minute loading time going through doors. And there's a lot of doors to go through for that quest. |

Was the Deadpool platinum enjoyable? I had a quick look at the trophies and some seemed fun however there was one for playing everything on the various difficulties. Not sure I wanna play thru the whole game again just yet |

The hard difficulty in Deadpool was a bit frustrating, but I attempted it on my first go. You'd have all your upgrades if you were trying on a second playthrough. You'll want to pay attention to momentum a lot more than you do in lower difficulties, and purchase the extra momentum perks. You are invulnerable to move damage when performing most momentum attacks, and the upgrade that gives you 10 seconds of invulnerability after a fully charged L2+square attack can be quite helpful. The L2+mash triangle momentum attack is particularly devestating with fully upgraded hammers. When you don't have momentum available, counter whenever you are given the opportunity since that builds it up quicker. The two combo trophies (300 hit combo, and 75 hit on the stairs in the final level) could be a bit difficult if you've upgraded since you'll be killing people to quickly. If you have trouble, you can always reset your upgrades afterwards and then earn enough DP to purchase the sais. Everything else is doable without much trouble. |
