Over the weekend I finished The Last of Us DLC (Left Behind) and the second episode of Wolf Among Us. Left Behind was brilliant, it felt familiar yet different in a good way. Even though it was farely short, it was good to get back into that world and learn a bit about Ellie's past. As for Wolf Among Us, I really liked this episode, it was probably better than the first episode for me. I'm really enjoying the characters and the world so far. |

At $22 for a couple of hours DLC I guess I'll remain wondering what it's like. Post here when you're done and lemme know if it's worth it!

A definitely think it's worth it, maybe a bit too expensive but I had no problems paying that much anyway. |

If I wasn't balls deep in Rayman on PS4 I'd buyu it this very instant. Yeah that's how much I liked the Last of Us and that's all it took to convince me to buy. One person saying it's good ![]() Not related to finishing it really but I enjoyed the game enough to make a poster for one of the coveted 6 spots in my games room ![]()

I finished off DmC today. I hadn't really played much of the previous Devil May Cry games: enough to know it's about a white haird dude who kills demons with a sword and guns, but not enough to be up in arms about Ninja Theory ruining the series forever. So without that baggage, I found the game quite fun. The platforming with the angel/demon whip moves worked pretty well, and the combat flowed pretty well. And when I beat the game I unlocked white hair for Dante, so I don't know why people were so bothered. Graphically, it doesn't seem as polished as Ninja Theory's previous work. One thing that really stood out to me was that the character eyes looked really good (perhaps they reused the eye rendering from Enslaved?), and made the lower resolution skin and clothing textures a bit more obvious. Like their previous games, they kept it fairly colourful, which is a nice change from games where atmosphere == grey or brown. |

I'm hoping to start DmC at some point. Any idea how long it took you? How was the difficulty? |

There are 20 chapters of varying length, and you could probably get through it in ~ 8 hours. I played through on the middle difficulty of the 3 available when you start the game, and had one or two deaths in most chapters. While there are healing and resurrection items, if you die you can continue from the last checkpoint with full health so it's probably not worth using too many of them (and items go up in price the more you buy them). As with other games in the series, its longevity comes out of replaying the levels for better scores or on harder difficulties (there were 4 more modes that are unlocked by completing the game or completing it on a particular difficulty/mode). There are also areas of early levels that are inaccessible until you replay them with moves unlocked later in the game. I haven't gone into all this though, and decided to call it finished after a single play through. |

Thanks for the info. It's one of those games I don't want to miss out on, but I don't want to invest a lot of time into. |

It's a fantastic game man. You shouldn';t be disappointed. I'd played all the predecessors (although only up to the first boss in #4) and I loved the reboot. There comes a point where reusing the same character and gameplay style just becomes redundant so I thought it was a good decision to use the name and reboot. Whole lot more scope with this character for story and I felt it was time for something new. Wish they'd take the hint with AC, Gears, etc. ![]() BUT, if you've not played Bayonetta yet punch yourself in the cock then go play it before doing anything else. It's, by far, the greatest game int hat genre I've ever played! |

With pleasure! Bayonetta is one of those games that completely slipped under my radar. The only thing I can tell you about that game is that it features a glasses wearing raven-haired woman with legs that go all the way up. |

I played through the Honest Hearts DLC for Fallout New Vegas today. It seemed fairly short compared to the first DLC, but the story was interesting provided you went out to look for it (e.g. finding out about the "Father in the Cave" character). -- Ransworld: Bayonetta is definitely worth a play too. It is similar to DmC (not too surprising, given that it's from the creator of the original Devil May Cry), but is nowhere near as serious. My one piece of advice would be to practice your dodging from the start. It isn't the kind of game where it often makes sense to trade damage for getting an extra hit in. |

Awesome. Maybe I'll start with DmC, since I've already downloaded it; and I'll check out Bayonetta when I want more from the genre. |

I finished Brave on the weekend (yeah the game of the Disney movie). Not surprisingly you played a Scottish girl who's Mum turns into a bear and you had to defeat an end boss called Mordu. Aside from that rather tenuous link the rest of the game had next to fuck all to do with the movie. Luckily it was a fantastic game. Really enjoyable and quite difficult in parts. You have two means of fighting; sword and bow. Sword acts like your standard button masher whereas the bow is used with the right analogue stick like a twin shooter. You can use either at any time and it made for some interesting gameplay. They also throw four elements at you in game; earth, fire, air, ice (of course). Using the R buttons you assign each to your attacks. Every enemy has a weakness so equipping the right element during a fight becomes important. Throw in some special movies, charge shots and power moves and you have a pretty varied game. Feels like it was developed as a standalone game then had a Brave skin thrown on top but at least they kept the voice acting good. I can't be sure but I'm pretty certain it's Kelly Macdonald doing the voice of Meridfa thru the game (Margaret Thompson from Boardwalk Empire if you're unfamiliar with her). Only downside was that they recycled bosses near the end and there were lots of fights that were just block you off / throw loads of guys at you. Still an enjoyable game with fun coop. Good one for the kids. I polayed on Brave (hardest difficulty) which was quite tricky whereas the kids tried on easy which was far too easy. Good that there is a decent range of difficulty
