I said it before, but you probably would have enjoyed the rest of the game if you persevered. That particular boss battle was probably one of the most difficult, since you are relatively underpowered at that point and the throwing star controls were a bit clunky. There were some pretty cool parts of the game later on (e.g. when they started ripping off Portal), but I totally understand giving up on it given how many unplayed games you've got. |

Yeah I remember you saying that but I wasn't prepared to start a game I wasn't fussed with all over again on the off chance you were right. People said they enjoyed it but not enough said they loved it for me to bother. Hope that makes sense. You're one of the people who's opinion on games I generally listen to. |

I guess I found the game to be a lot better than I expected from the marketing and dull box art. I didn't like it enough to go out and buy the sequel on launch though, and still haven't played it even at the fire sale prices post THQ bankruptcy. I probably will at some point though ... It is a shame that no one picked up the studio when THQ was auctioning it off though. |

I finished off the Dead Money DLC for Fallout: New Vegas. I liked the new characters, and finding out about the back story through the terminals (e.g. what the ghost enemies were). It was interesting having a mute character, but it felt a bit weird to have subtitles explaining her hand gestures while she stood completely still. I didn't like searching for the speakers that would set off your bomb collar. Rather than letting you let things happen as you explore and deal with the consequences, it led to a lot of manual saving. Worst was when you'd die a few times and finally find and destroy the speaker only to realise that there was a second one, and have your head explode again. I also wish I knew it was going to take most of my gear away at the start of the DLC. On completion, I was severely over-encumbered since I had all my original gear plus all the stuff I'd collected during the DLC. |

finished link between worlds. it is amazing and in my top favourite games. also the first ever zelda game I've finished!!! I want to get onto the other zelda games on DS. I have ocarina of time 3DS which I still need to finish. but I want to get the two older DS ones. phantom hourglass and spirit tracks. anyone played them? if so, how good are they? I think you have to use the stylus to control link or something Edited by agent93, Feb 1 2014, 04:59 PM.

They're ok but they're nothing like Ocarina of Time or Link to the PAst. Link toi the Past was actually my GOTY last year. Not the hardest of games but a perfect combination of solid gameplay, longevity, nostalgia and good platform choice to make it stand out as a damn enar perfect experience for me |

I spent my Saturday night finishing Super Mario Bros. Pretty easy when you've got save states. It was a no hits, no lives lost run. |

Finished Tomb Raider 100% Fun game. A bit too easy though. It's just a lot of pushing the W key and basic platforming. I mean, climbing around was fun and looked good, but just doesn't seem to require much skill, precision or timing. As an action/adventure it's very good but more challenge would have been appreciated. Also those tombs were all pretty easy. At first they felt satisfying, but when they never went up in difficulty, seemed to be getting even easier and I was completing them in less than 2 minutes, they became very unsatisfying to complete. Level design was great though. Fantastic looking environments that were well designed for climbing on. I also liked the Metroidvania-style getting new gear and going back to unlock new areas or rooms. |

Played Papo & Yo today, got it in a recent humble bundle. Platforming and puzzles were good for the most part. Lovely art style, and a depressing, yet well-told story. |

I still remember finishing my first Zelda game (Ocarina of Time on the N64). It's a fantastic feeling to reflect back on all you've accomplished through the game. Anyway, I finally got around to doing the last mission on Enemy Unknown. Loved the shit out of it, the game is incredibly well designed and fun to play. Although without spoiling anything, the ending is a little meh. |

Finished Super Mario 3D World this morning with Indy. Tough last level but one of the most fun Super Mario games I've played in some time. Up there with my favourites (Super Mario World, Mario 64 and Mario Galaxy 1). Worked exceptionally well as a single player AND multiplayer game which is no mean feat. Easy enough for kids but tough enough rto provide a challenge for a seasoned gamer too (providing you go for all stars/stamps/etc.).

Any reason why Mario Galaxy 2 isn't up there with 1? I think 2 is slightly better but the two are so close in quality.

I didn't enjoy #2 as much. Felt like a polished #1 but with less original level design and an worse control scheme. Aiming fireballs for some of those bonus areas was a bitch and I hate losing because I can't get the controls to do what I want (or I feel they're being "unfair"). Whether it's my skill level with a Wiimote and nunchiuck or otherwise is irelephant! |

Based on the first two episodes of The Wolf Among Us and episode one of The Walking Dead it looks like Telltale's opting for approx. 60-90 minute episodes now. That sucks, especially because the episodes are released so far apart that it's easy to forget things. I'm certain TWD season one's episodes ranged from 2-3 hours each. Also playing them one-by-one is nowhere near as fun as playing every episode over a few days. If I was patient I'd wait. Edited by Moo, Feb 7 2014, 09:49 PM.

Just finished The Last of Us. What an amazing game. Loved the ending in particular as it felt very real. Game suffered from the usual flaws most modern AAA titles do like pushing the boundaries of what one person is capable of. At the start of the game it's always mildly believable however, by the end, it's you vs hundreds with just a backpack full of guns, a mean beard and a sneery expression! Loved the way they mixed stealth and action together however, especially in the latter sections, it became very hard to discern the correct stealth path and the game devolved into a lot of trial and error. Sparse checkpoints made this a very frustrating process at times. Suppose I shoulda just run in guns blazing instead but it felt more "real" this way. Anyway, Patto and Chamboosy want to do a special podcast discussing what we thought so I might hold off my detailed thoughts until then In summary; Great game that left me feeling excited. Felt like it dragged at points but the overall story, way they told it and "cinematography" of the game were worth it. |
