I'm really excited to try out Tearaway on the PS4 when that happens. |

I gave up on Demon Souls close to the start, and haven't given the series another look. It felt like the game was wasting my time with the penalties for dying, so I moved on to something else. It's cool you're having fun with Bloodborne though. |

I dunno. It sounds like Cities: Skylines is 'the game of our times'. I'll stick with Shovel Knight for now. |

This happened to me the first time I tried Dark Souls during a Steam free weekend. But then I tried it again after making a new character, and with more patience I was totally taken by it. It's the kind of game you just have to give a chance to break you out of the easy-mode, hand holding, pussification, winning is an eventuality rather than a reward, press x to win, Achievement unlocked: 50g "You pressed a button!", filthy casual slump we've all been in for the entirety of last gen. Once it does, boy is it fucking awesome. Of course if 3rd person action RPGs aren't your thing, or you don't have the time then fair enough, but if it does interest you as a game outside of it's difficulty then I implore you try it again. It's worth. Edited by Doomguy, Mar 28 2015, 05:09 PM.

I had a break for a bit, but I'm still playing it, made some great progress today. Beat 3 bosses; The Rotten, the Twin Dragonriders and The Looking Glass Knight, the latter two I did first try which was nice. I'm currently making my way through the Shrine Of Amana. Really enjoying it right now.

Too many level ups wasted on adaptability, the fool's attribute. If that's the mask you get off the guy in the fog, I think I kept that until the end. |

PS. I'm pretty sure I also wasted level ups on adaptability. In fact it might be an important stat. Adaptability and the question of its usefulness is apparently a 'thing' in the Dark Souls community. I don't know. Whatever the case, I wish you the best of luck.

Y'know what? NO. All of you coming in here to post about dumb artwank and mediocre crap and yet you deign defecate on the game of games? I am deeply offended. Bloodborne made me sad because Spoiler: click to toggle It is the jewel of our era.Perhaps it has dawned on you that I am clearly drunk. Drunk on Bloodborne? Perhaps. Drunk on alcohol? Hardly. I have only had six drinks. I write like the sober scribe of the highest cherub. I'm probably drunk just a bit. Bloodborne is a fun game about fighting. Edited by Moo, Mar 29 2015, 02:40 AM.

But in all seriousness, Dark Souls and Bloodborne are the result of the rare meeting of a genius mind and a big budget. Dark Souls 2, a very good game in its own right, wasn't directed by the director of these two games, and it shows. They are the most literary games I've played. Dark Souls is about the inevitability of death. Bloodborne is about the existential weight of that inevitability. Saying they are "about" these things is reductive and doesn't do them justice. It doesn't say anything about how they convey these ideas aesthetically. They're really just the best shit. |

I remember killing lots of babies in the South Park game. To be exact, they were Nazi zombie aborted foetuses. One of them had his umbilical cord as a support unit, which would periodically regrow. |
