I'd also throw in Shovel Knight too - good fun. And Super Mario 3D World.

I also have Shovel Knight. No Wii U, though.
Fuck_Giver.exe has stopped working!
Does it matter how I write the truth?

Shovel Knight and Guacamelee! are great fun. Have you played Stealth Bastard/Stealth Inc yet? It's an amazing stealth platformer. Not as good as Mark of the Ninja but still.

In other news I just finished the Witcher 2 for the first time. Really want to go back and play #1 then #2 again now before #3 comes out but I'll hold off. Think I need to brush up on the lore a little though as I'm sure there are parts I missed. Certainly one of the Lords that made appearances at the end I couldn't place.

Such an amazing game. Quite possibly the best RPG I've ever played. Only negative I can think of was how much running around there was and how, sometimes, it wasn't clear what you had to do to win or fail a quest. Then I stop myself and realise that that's part of what I loved about the game. Much like Dark Souls it rewards you for learning the areas and the people rather than just giving you a bouncing quest marker to follow all the time.

Can't wait for #3 :) Pre-ordered at GOG. Cost a little more but at least the money goes directly to them. I'd never realised that site was CD PROJEKT RED before. Pretty bad eh?

How far are you into it?

I completed the first episode of Life is Strange recently. If you enjoy adventure games, I think you'll enjoy this. You'll get the most out of the story if you spend a bit of time reading the journals and extra reading material, so don't rush through it. It's a very interesting story with a unique time travel gameplay element. Also, it looks fantastic and the music is superb. My only negative is the poor lip syncing. However, as a JRPG fan, I'm used to this.

The first episode is available now for ~$5, while the next episode is expected March.

I tried the trial version the other day and even though the dialogue is quite tweeny and almost insta-turn off worthy, it seemed interesting enough that I might give it a shot. I usually wait til the whole game is out rather than do episode by episode waiting months for each release.

I'm up to an annoying boss fight. The areas of shade are quite limited and the randomness of the boss eye direction is proving quite frustrating.

It's the boss fight at the end of level 6 though. Absolutely loving it so far. Really clever and enjoyable. Looking forward to re-reading your review after I'm done :)

You know you can screenshot on a vita right?

That fight was difficult but rewarding. Wait til you get to the part with two clones.

Finished it last night. Couldn't put the damn thing down. Level 6 was the peak of difficulty for me. 7 and 8 were respectively quite easy; especially 8. Loved the ethical side of the final levels and the humour felt very "Portal". Final levels were strangely easy though. Very straight forward and time based rather than having you try to figure out what to do. Strange change of pace but still enjoyable.

Final boss level was stupidly easy though :(

and yeah, I know you can get screenshots from the Vita. I have loads of them but keep forgetting to bring my cable to work so I can grab them when I think of it :S

I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10. After re-reading your review I think I've found the first game I disagree with you about :) I thought the added reward levels for attaining S rank on all levels or finding that helix thing were a good addition. Although, considering you listed a bad point of Tomb Raider as the tomb levels being optional rather than required, I'm guessing you're not a fan of addon content and prefer to have it all included from the get go.

I also didn't find any of the levels any "crueller" than the early ones. Every death in the game was my fault and I never felt the game was unbalanced or unfair. If anything I felt it got easier near the end.

All in all this is an exemplary stealth puzzle platformer. It controls well, is well designed and has a nice dark humour throughout. DEfinitely recommend it for anyone who likes that sort of game (as opposed to your traditional Mario/Rayman/Crash type platformers)

Also finished Forza Horizon 2 last night. Did the final race in my beloved 370z of course! Even though I prefer the Adventador in game.

Was pretty awesome but the over use of the word "mate", the unecessary road trips back to the hub at the end of each day and stripping the vehicle specific challenges was a shame. Still an awesome title though and good to see they still remember how to make games instead of just grinding sims.

I played the Battlefield 4 campaign over the last few days. It was alright I guess. As with all these military shooters, the story made absolutely no sense to me and jumped around all over the place. I had little to no idea of what I was doing at any point or why. They're all the same uninspired crap. Set pieces were generally good, though I think these are so par for the course now that they have lost all meaning.

At the very least, it was better than BF3's campaign. A little more memorable and the I cared about the characters somewhat. Though not quite enough to make a choice at the end. That just seemed to be thrown in there so they could say we got some 'agency' over the story. I honestly don't care that much about choice in stories. Just give me one solid conclusion and I'm happy.

Though I found it funny how in the beginning sequence in the car where you have to shoot out the window, I didn't click anything (because as usual, I wanted to see what would happen) and the screen still cut to black and everything played out just fine. Apparently I had a choice there, I didn't.

I played through it on Hard mode and found it fairly easy. I died a few times sure, but I expected more. And the AI's pretty stupid, they provide no challenge.

I felt obligated to play this, so I did. I actually hope that for the next game they don't even bother with a story. But I'm sure EA will force them to include a campaign anyway.

Hardline has a story and I'm excited to see how the guys behind Dead Space turn a good story in for a Battlefield game.

Different developer known for SP + cops instead of military + interesting episodic TV style storytelling = yeah that might actually be worth playing

Though I don't see myself buying the game any time soon at full price, unless reviews and general opinion say that I should. I haven't played any of the current BETA, but I came away from the other one feeling like it was just more Battlefield, and the cops/robbers theme didn't really do much differentiate itself from the war theme. Apparently that Hotwire mode is good though.

It's probably best to wait for the GOTY edition that includes the Ferguson DLC.
