The other testament to how great Forza Horizon is is that I'm not done playing it. Even though I've finished it I'm enjoying free roam so much I'll keep doing that. |

Finished Cryssi 2. Turned out to be pretty good after a bad start. I wasn't enjoying it at all for some reason and was considering just stopping and was also thinking about not bothering with the next game. But I've changed my mind on that now. I actually enjoyed myself during the second half of it and I'll definitely pick up Crysis 3 at some point. Pretty much everybody complained about the linearity but I didn't mind it at all really. The first game and Warhead had a bunch of linear sections in them, and I think Crysis 2 simply had a few more of those sections. They just helped with the pacing a bit I think. I actually made it through a number of sections in the game without killing any enemies. I also found that when I did want to take them on, the levels were open enough to flank around them and find different ways to kill them. The levels don't need to be 10 square miles for it to be fun. Perhaps people thought that it would be a large open city to play around in. And yeah that would have been cool, so I could understand people being disappointed. Plus, maybe playing it so late helps me have a different view on it. But the game has great pacing and the level design is excellent in my opinion, objects don't feel like they are placed at random for a natural feel, it all feels very deliberate while still looking natural. The only real negatives for me, is that the story was bleh, and I only started to semi-care about it in the last hour. For the most part I found it to be very convoluted, which I guess you could attribute to me not listening to the bland dialogue. Probably could have been a good story if it was written and acted better. The other thing would be that the AI could be bad at times. Glitching out and walking in place or just looking very confused while I'm standing right next to them hitting them with my rifle. Those aren't overly important to me though, I still had fun. Just finished Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Very emotionally gripping, Very visually appealing game, nice gameplay, unique controls. Actually, the controls in this game are so unique, they're the first time I've ever seen them used to enhance the story telling. Spoiler: click to toggle I really recommend this game. I actually enjoyed Mass Effect 2 the most out of the 3. I think it was because I read the novels that were set between 1 & 2 and provided a bit more of a back story in regards to the Illusive Man and the Reapers with indoctrination. Would highly recommend the books to anyone that is a fan of the series, I was actually put onto them by a fellow Gamespot AU member! |

Brothers is 50% off on steam right now. Get it. One thing though, it requires a controller to play. KBAM is a no go with this one. |

Fully completed Guacamelee. I beat the final boss a few days ago but I didn't have any of the orbs with the Lucha mask pieces. So I went and found those and just beat the final boss again and got the alternate ending. Getting those orbs wasn't easy. A couple in particular were quite difficult but I got through them. I also had fun doing so, great game. I'd really like to buy Brothers right now, but I might wait and finish some more games first. It's bound to show up again for the same price somewhere within the next few months. Edited by Twisted, Jan 10 2014, 09:25 PM.

Yeah I stumbled upon it a few months back, there's some awesome deals on it. Half of the stuff on there is at Steam sale prices, but all the time. |

Yeah I felt the same. Hear tof the Swarm was something special and I loved the way it made you play the various levels. If they'd put all three campaigns ina single game release it'd definitely be a contender to knock WArcraft III off it's pedestal

I finished off the first act of Broken Age last night. I liked the way you can switch between the two lead characters at any time: it reduced the frustration of getting stuck in one character's story since you could just switch to the other. The art style is nice, and the UI has obviously been designed to be touch friendly (not a bad thing for a point and click adventure game). My only complaint is that it felt a bit short, so hopefully the second act is a bit longer than the first. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the second act. |

Just finished Darksiders. Took long enough considering I bought it at the end of 2010. Fun game though. I also loved just looking at it sometimes, great art and level design. I'm looking forward to moving onto something else now though. It was starting to get a bit much at the end there. The second last part of the game seemed to go on forever. Then the final part of the game where you have to collect 7 blade shards gets you fast travelling around the world. The problem being that the fast travel involves a platforming section. It takes about an average of 30 seconds to run through them but when your fast travelling quickly to each place, I just don't want to do that anymore. Only other problems I had were the early section where you're riding the dragon or whatever and it was just an on-rails shooter. It went on for way too long and it wasn't fun. Then the other one where you meet Ulthane, the giant blacksmith and you go on this run through an area killing hordes of angels. The problem being pretty much the only way to get it done is to use their guns, which makes it a clunky TPS which also isn't fun. Those parts don't last long at all really in the overall length of the game but still I wouldn't want to do them again. Those are minor annoyances really, I had fun with it and I'll get around to the second game at some point this year maybe. |

I wasn't overly enthralled with the game and got stuck on the (first?) boss and jsut gave up. It was the one near the start where you get the boomerang thing and had to hit something whilst dodging fireballs. I just couldn't get the timing right. Second game felt like a totally different game to me. Much more God of War like in controls and a more polished product. |

Right after that is the crappy part I mentioned with the blacksmith. But right after that section is when the game started getting much better for me. Before that I wasn't into it either. I do remember that boss not being very fun to fight and the aiming being so slow in the game didn't help. |
