Well, If you are comparing the franchises, I'd look at the later Tomb Raider games released before Uncharted 1 rather than the first: e.g. Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider: Anniversary. I agree that the new game is a lot closer to Uncharted with the introduction of free aim, but like previous Tomb Raider games it still seemed to prioritise platforming/traversal over combat.

I heard you excel at single player games, multiplayer not so much.

Did you feel like you got value with such a short single player campaign?

Not until the sequel gets developed.

Hey man, I'm just trying to get the 100'000 shots fired achievement, I swear!

What are you talking about, it's a 12 hour long game?!

Rayman Fiesta Run. Fantastic game although the assists are a bit unnecessary. Basically you can purchase helpers such as hearts (removes the one hit kill) or a dotted line showing you the route to take and buttons to press. Made myself complete the game without using any of them as I felt they were kinda unnecessary.

Didn't run very well on my HTC One XL but ran perfectly on the Surface Pro. Once again they nailed the runner game genre perfectly :)

I finished off Remember Me. I really liked the story in the game, although the actual game felt smaller than I would have hoped. Neo-Paris looked great, but there was so many places you couldn't go. It suffered a bit from the "knee high wall" problem in places, and there often seemed to be interesting things happening in portions of the map you couldn't get to. Further more, there were a lot of one-way doors designed to keep you moving through a level, but it wasn't always obvious where they were. This was a bit of a pain if you enjoy exploring the environment. It would have been a good setting for an open world game, but I'm not sure that would have helped the game out too much.

I also found the camera to be a bit of a problem during combat. If you ignored manual control, it often seemed to drift into really bad positions where you couldn't see any of the action. It's a bit of a pain having to manually fiddle with the camera while surrounded by enemies. Then you get to the final battle with its fixed camera, and that feels sub-optimal too.

The main draw card of the game -- the ability to remix and alter people's memories -- is only used four times over the entire game. I understand that those sequences obviously required a lot of scripting making it difficult to do spontaneously, but perhaps it would have been nice to imply that Nilin used this ability a bit more off camera.

As far as the ethics of memory remixing goes, it might have been nice to see the repercussions more. For instance,

EDIT: one other annoyance was the checkpoint system. If you died or otherwise caused a checkpoint to reload, it reset all progress after that point. If you found a collectible, you'll have to collect it again. If you customised your combos, you'll have to do it again. This was particularly annoying if you went into a boss battle with your combos set up wrong (e.g. if you needed a longer regen combo, or a short cooldown combo, etc). Once you found a combo that worked, you'd need to re-enter it every time you died since the customisation was done after checkpoint at the start of the battle. There wasn't any obvious reason for that.

Tearaway

Decent game, loads of fun, enjoyable story, decent mechanics.

I know it's not the reason a game is good or bad but I have to say that this game is probably the best Vita demo I've seen. It uses all the systems various interface methods in a way that feels natural and non intrusive. Works well to make the game enjoyable without making it feel gimmicky.

I thought this game was a decent platformer with a really enjoyable story. What made it great for me was the game world. I really loved wandering around, talking to the various occupants, and just seeing how they made it. The papercraft theme thru everything added to this and, coupled with great sound, made it really fun. Downside was that it was way too easy although making it more difficult would probably just ruin the immersion.

Not much replay either. All you can really do afterwards is replay the levels seeking out collectibles you missed or go for 100% of trophies. I'd considered going for the platinum but I'm missing 5 pieces of confetti on The Barn level and, despite replaying it 4 times, can't find it so I've cracked it now and put it away. Figure it's best to leave it as an enjoyable experience rather than add frustration right? Lol

Wow... what a horrible summary of a game! Lol.

I finished Brothers: A tale of two sons yesterday. I wasnt even expecting to like the game let alone enjoy it so much. A great narrative and a very emotional game with inyeresting landacapes amd setting. So glad it is free on Ps+ or I would never have played it.

I agree with most of what you've said. I'm glad that there's no DLC or anything like that, like a certain other Media Molecule game. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found going for the platinum nice and easy. It's an involving game which is great. Visually it's a perfect looking game. It caters perfectly to kids and adults.

If people have a Vita, they should really have Tearaway.

The 'putting away because of frustration yada yada yada' line. Those confetti's aren't hard to find. (Hint: use a guiiiide).

I couldn't find a guide for the barn. I think all I have left is to complete the last 4 levels 10 100%, the barn to 100% and finish two levels without dying. The rest I got naturally... well except for one where I had to photograph a gopher riding a moose with a B&W filter. I'd alredy photographed him riding it when I was dicking around, just hadn't used the filter so I figured I'd earnt an easy one :)
