Is the PS3 version of Bayonetta still considered to be inferior to the 360 version? Half the frame rate or something? Would I be nuts to play anything other than the Wii U version?
Not the way it was at release. It was almost unplayable due to constant pauses whilst loading checkpoints. These occur regularly during a level and were designed to run at points where part of a level closes. I.e. Clear one part of the level and load the next in the background whilst you play to keep the experience smooth. Unfortunately, on PS3, the game froze whilst it did it meaning you had 5-10 second pauses every few minutes.

They fixed that a few months after release and they're comparable now.

Do you have a WiiU? If so you should grab Bayonetta 2 for it. It comes with a remastered version of #1. That said it's about twice the cost of Bayonetta 1 but still, if you like that sort of game you're not going to be disappointed. Still up there as best of genre for me.

Those Buy It Now links are nifty! Do you have to manually track prices, or is it automated?

I can't justify spending a bunch on the Wii U version right now—I've got too many games to play. The PS3 price is so cheap though… when will the bargains end?!

There were performance issues on release, apparently. A title update added the ability to transfer more data to the hard drive.

That wouldn't be an issue with a digital download version, since all the data is on the hard drive up front.
I assumed that all games bought from the PlayStation Store would always perform better than disc versions, but in the case of GTA V on PS3, it was slower. Apparently the disc version was designed to load data from the disc and hard-drive simultaneously, whereas the download version could load from the hard-drive only.

There are have been a few games like that. Apparently the same was true on the X360 when they introduced the ability to copy the DVD contents to the hard drive: some games had been designed to cache some data to the hard drive already and had no way to know this was no longer necessary. And copying from one place on the drive to another is likely slower than copying from optical disc to the hard drive, since the reads take away from the write bandwidth.

I doubt this would be the case for PS3 Bayonetta, since it was never trying to be that smart.

As I've mentioned before, it's a great game, but horribly broken on iPhone 6. I've decided to start it again on iPad.

And if that fails, it kicks ass with no troubles on the ps4.

I should have gone with console, but I've already purchased all episodes on iTunes. It was working perfectly at release, but Ubisoft broke it soon after with a patch and haven't bothered to correct it.

I thought Ubisoft were the experts at taking new ideas, franchising them and then dumbing them down... sorry, "making them more accessible"

Ubisoft launched Tetris Ultimate on a few platforms that are riddled with performance and online issues. Dont think anything can top getting Tetris wrong.

Yeah, the framerates on the PS3 version are more inconsistent.

But Bayonetta targets 60FPS anyway, which is alot more than you can say for most Console games that would rather cap it at 30.

Mario Party 10 pre order for $50. Are Wii U games generally cheap or is this a bargain?
