Continuing with Tomb Raider; looks great and plays great but Lara's voice actor is just annoying me so much. It's a pet hate of mine but I hate hearing people out of breath. Paton Oswald is often like that with his standup and the voice actor for Tomb Raider is constantly out of breath. Makes sense for the game I suppose but it's bloody annoying!

Hi -- breath, pant -- Dave. How are you doing? - gasp, wheeze-

I'm playing Antichamber. I used those square blocks to jump up an elevator shaft. I don't know if that was the solution to the puzzle or an unintended exploit.

Trippy game.

Payday 2, never played the first one but this is pretty damn cool. We should have a CGN with it.

Free hint : Don't take a break from it and come back... unless you plan to start all over again. Lol.

Currently playing CS:go, Farcry 4, GTA V on XB1.
I think that's it.
I bought The Escapist on PC recently. Pretty good game, no hand holding. Just puts you in a prison and tells you to escape. So far I've made it to the roof for 1 second before I got shot :p

On the topic of hotdogs Jingles edited this week's podcast. Have a listen to the last couple of minutes. Quite amusing :)
So was that Jingles discussing the consumption of the burger with 4 strips of bacon and eggs?

Why is so AC3 so shit.

Im back to getting bored of playing the game after 30 minutes. Easily the worst in this series so far, im not sure why though.

Its either the story, Connor, or boring American landscape and timeline.

I was playing online with a couple of people and they said AC3 is terrible (I only played the previous ones).

They said it was just going to point A and B most of the time until 2 thirds or the way through.

Do yourself a favour and play the much better AC4 if you have it.

I havent bought it yet, despite the very cheap deals just gone for the game via Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals.

Im literally almost turned off from the series now. I do understand that Black Flag is reported to be better than AC3.

Thing is AC3 completes the Desmond story, as far as Im aware of and if I finish it ill get my conclusion. AC4 and Unity dont have much to do with that story arc, yes I know the BF is one of the characters in AC3.

I think there were multiple problems with the game:

1. The Haytham Kenway prologue took too long
2. They assumed that American history was inherently interesting, and everyone would have a background in it. Maybe that is true for people in the US? I also don't remember it being that adventurous in its portrayal of the real historic characters (perhaps trying not to offend anyone?).
3. After climbing over cathedrals, palaces, mosques, etc, colonial US towns were quite dull, from a gameplay perspective.
4. Some parts of the wilderness were a bit too uniform. While you can understand two viewpoint towers being built to the same or similar blueprints, how come almost all the same viewpoint trees were identical?
5. As with the previous games, it adds new mechanics without wanting to remove or streamline things. I remember the weapon selection UI being a real mess; AC4 was a breath of fresh air in this respect.

I'm agreeing with all your points on the game so far.

Played all the previous games and I just feel obliged to complete the game and get my conclusion to the Desmond modern day story. It feels like such a chore at the moment though.

In its favour though, without AC3's naval side missions I doubt we would have ever got a game like AC4.

Finished Shadow of Mordor last night. Good, but not great. Tim and I will be doing a review together soon.

Months ago I basically gave up on Dark Souls, but since I've taken an extended break from it I have reinstalled it to finish what I started. When I quit I had found one of the lord souls from the demon ruins, so now I'm doing The Duke's Archives.
