There arent many high profile games that I'd consider legitimately terrible. Most have at least have some merits no matter how mediocre they can be.

But Dragon Age 2 was just bad.
I'm already tired of playing after walking around the visually ugly and unvarying city and engaging in boring conversations.

I can't fully grasp why Dragon Age doesn't work for me. I love Skyrim and Mass Effect and it's a combination of the two, but it's just so tedious to play.

Dragon Age is alot less active and employs more tactical control, but Dragon Age 2 messed it up because things like party positioning doesnt matter and Skills carry alot less weight, creating the feeling of busywork and spamming.

Origins was great if you played it in a more squad based manner and micromanaging as a party instead of just one character; there was a FFXII-like management system that was pretty fun to use as well. The World building was as strong as in Mass Effect, even through its occasional atmospheric blandness and forced maturity.

There's a lot more depth in Dragon Age's world, even if it may not be evident until Inquisition.

It was Inquisition that got me thinking about playing the old games, because I was tempted to buy it but thought it'd be a risky investment after not enjoying Origins. I think I'll wait until it's in the bargain bin.

The combat in Inquisition is more like DA2's whereas the world is more like Origins, not sure if that helps.

Fuck AC3 was testing my patience in getting into the game. Who's idea was it to spoon feed us experience players especially people who have played all the AC games in the past and make the first few sequences so tedious and basic. The lengthy tutorial sequences were not required and handled poorly. I was close on putting the game down and not bothering.

Only now in sequence 5 where I am a junior assassin has the game opened up a little and has become interesting.

I also hate killing the animals in the game, im uncomfortable with the hunting.

Played through To the Moon last night. After the 1st hour I would've dismissed it as a Hallmark movie dressed up as a game, because it wheels out every melodramatic cliche and heaps on emotional piano medleys like gravy. But then it shows its hand and it's actually clever, entertaining and touching. It's like a compact, less ambitious 999. I liked it.

That's part of the reason I could never play ACIV or continue playing the Far Cry series. The hunting is such a massive part of the game that you have no choice but to do it to progress properly.

I've been playing Velocity 2X and enjoying it. Nice little Vita game.

Would you feel uncomfortable killing cyber panthers, devil goats, and mutated cassowaries? If not, perhaps give Far Cry Blood Dragon a go.

I might give it a shot. It looks like fun. I don't mind that - and that makes me a bit of a hypocrite. Especially since I didn't mind it in Red Dead Redemption either.
