I must admit Lara is actually surprisingly attractive in this game. Also whoever voiced her has done a great job. It's not often that a female voice in a game is any good. Edited by Twisted, Jan 24 2014, 11:48 PM.

Started on Oddworld: Strangers Wrath on Vita. Looks brilliant, plays really nice. A good enough game to play on Vita for the time being. Wondering whether I should start Persona 4 or New Little King's Story or Lone Survivor... |

I remember your review where you gave it seven and a half. I'll get to it eventually. Still really into Spelunky though. |

I've been working my way through Guacamelee! during my dinner breaks at work, after having finished Tearaway. Both are great games! Tearaway was a joy to play---so much polish, great music, and it controls well. I'm a sucker for native res and anti-aliasing on the Vita, so it's nice to see a bit of both! Also, the ending is brilliant. Guacamelee! is turning into one of the most satisfying gaming experiences I've ever had. Once I finish my first play-through, I'll be forcing everyone who walks through the door to play co-op with me.

Spelunky is the tits! So brutal yet so fun and satisfying. Feels like Dark Souls in that it punishes you for impatience. As for me, I'm playing Puppeteer, Last of Us, Super Mario 3D Land and Fallout NV. Also still slugging away at Bravely Default on the 3DS! |

![]() Puppeteer - I love the presentation and humor of this game. It's a very well rounded package that's fun to play but suffers from two flaws. 1. The story is a little convoluted and hard to follow due to the voice acting/background noise. I find myself caring very little for what goes on as I quite often miss what the characters are saying. Trying to listen to the witch this mroning I replayed a scene three times and still couldn't catch it. Pretty bad when the dialogue is meant to be setting the scene. 2. Feels floaty. In the same way I wasn't overly keen on the platforming in Little Big Planet, Puppeteer feels floaty as I play. They counter this by being overly generous with character placement however it still feels "loose". Actually that reminds me... the heads are meant to do something right? I can't remember the button press to use my head's skill. |

Last of Us - Loving this game so far although I'm getting to a point where it feels like it's dragging on (in the University). Feels like they're recycling ideas and just throwing hordes at me although I do like the mixup of shooting and sneaking scenes. Forces me to waste some of my ammo in some parts as there's no way (I can see) to sneak thru certain situations. Also the story is beginning to have some rather annoying holes. E.g. I'm chasing someone on a horse (a goodie). Following tracks I come across a bandit camp and need to kill the 15 or so bandits before getting back on my horse and continuing the journey. Where were these bandits when the person I'm following passed thru a few minutes prior? Where they all taking a simultaneous pee break?! There are a few annoying bits in the dialogue too however I can understand why they do it. For example; much of what Ellie says doesn't gel with a character who's meant to have grown up in that world. E.g. after the game intro we go "20 years later". Ellie's meant to be, what? 16 years old? So there's no point making her reference things before the occurences in the game or from a "normal" world as she didn't grow up there! Also little annoying things like Ellie admitting her one greatest fear is being left alone... then a few scenes later she's saying that she's always wanted to be an astronaught so she could float around in space totally alone. I know that's me being really picky and it doesn't bother me that much, just something I noticed. |

Super Mario 3D Land : Fantastic game but ridiculously easy. I'm playing with the kids (7, 5 and 3 years old) and it's a sensational group game. Quite impressed with how good they've got at platformers too. Bravely Default : Nearly at the end of chapter 5 (I think). Felt like padder but I enjoyed experimenting with the jobs. Think I've found the perfect team now and am decimating bosses again! Characters and voice acting just shit me though. Waaaay too goody two shoes and not realistic at all. Even for a Japanese game! Fallout NV : Enjoying it way more than Skyrim and much more than my previous playthrus. This is my "laptop game"; i.e. the one I play when killing time doing server work or waiting for people to log off or when it's raining at lunch time

Don't worry, SM3DL gets quite a bit harder. |
