MGS is like a soap opera in that on paper and upon a quick glance is seems convoluted, overdramatic and amateur, but there's still something about it that gets you hooked nonetheless.

Also The Last of Us managed to take some very tired, overused concepts in gaming and turn them into something unique and special (third-person cover shooters and the plot). It's one of the best traditional narratives in a video game and I think it will rightly be remembered as a masterpiece.

]Well no-one. That was my point of my post haha.
Now I remember. Had you over hyped it yourself or do you mean everyone else was all hyped up about it? E.g. I've played games like Skyrim where the world was having a collective orgasm but I wasn't particularly hyped myself. Then there's Hyrule Warriors or Transistor where I was almost taking days off work to wait by the mailbox... ok not really but you know what I mean. The latter weren't overly hyped in mainstream media whereas the former was.

I think a bit of both. I listen to Podcast Beyond (IGN Playstation podcast) and they were hyping the game up saying how amazing it was. But then again when I did get it my girlfriend had just broken up with me..so I think that's why I couldn't get into it cause my mind was elsewhere.

I'll give it another chance on PS4!

The Banner Saga has been on my Steam wishlist for awhile now, but instead of the logical decision of keyboard and mouse for a strategy game, I opted for the touch screen version. XCOM: EU plays really well on mobile devices, so I'm hoping for the same here. I'm yet to get into it, but I'll be sure to post impressions later.

Nearing the end of Wolfenstein: The New Order and loving it. This game is so good both visually and gameplay wise. Also, the story is great too. Looking forward to playing it through again.

Something to play while I ignore those annoying kids who come door knocking for candy every year :)

My god I have had a terrible experience with PC gaming the last couple of days.

Bioshock Infinite is crashing at the start menu, I just cant seem to fix it. Ive re installed the steam copy and I have figured out that its a sli issue, cause the game runs on one card only.

Assassins Creed 3. Fuck Uplay. The Steam client wouldnt let me login through Uplay portal so I eventually figured out that I had to install uplay on its own and register the game. Eventually got it started but than couldnt get the 360 controller to detect, eventually figured it out but the buttons config are all fucking wrong. I dont recall using R buttons to adjust camera, surely its right analogue stick. Had zero issues with Revelations.

Tried Sleeping Dogs and that fired up ok until I put the graphics up to Extreme. My PC reset itself several times indicating that its a PSU issue, it is hot today but damn I have a 1000W PSU, more than enough to run sli with the game.

Hours lost, to get no results. My conclusion is that is perhaps its time to get that GTX980 and just run one card using a shit load less energy but I cant afford one now so PC gaming is on hold again. And no I am not dropping the graphics from the highest settings.

And to top it off my Xbone wasnt firing up. Im yet to even play a game on it. Changed the power supply to another power point and got it started. Scared the shit out of me that it required a replacement.

Tried Quake Live today. I've never really played a quake game properly before, and this seems pretty cool. To my knowledge it's basically Quake 3 Arena: F2P addition. I quite like it, seems like a really fun, fast paced game. However, I certainly suck at it! It feels a million times more difficult than the much slower, more methodical, down to earth counter strike.

I tried it around when it first released. Had a bit of fun with it (as I've always loved Unreal Tournament) but the software itself had issues and I quickly gave up on it. I might give it another go. Then again I could just install UT, I have all of them on Steam. No idea how large the player base is nowadays though.

Wolfenstein New Order is turning out to be probably my favourite game of the year so far. Just so much fun to play. It doesn't redefine FPS, but what it does it does so damn well.

What issues did you have with the software? The game itself seems fine but the menus leave some refinement to be desired.
