On the topic of Zelda, I have a voucher for JB Hi Fi that I should probably use soon. I was always thinking of buying OoT for 3DS, but yesterday I was wondering if instead I should get A Link Between Worlds instead and just play OoT on my PC with an emulator. I've never played either and actually the only LoZ I have played is half of Link to the Past. I'm not really sure if I'll like OoT all that much, it might feel a little dated to me and I have no nostalgia for the series. Whereas I liked my time with LTTP and think the new one looks good. I have a second voucher, so realistically I could buy both, however I still want to get DKCR. |

I feel like playing the 3DS version would very much minimise your chances of finding it dated. |

A link between worlds is the best Zelda game in the franchise. So I highly reccomend it. |

Started on The Walking Dead S2 last night. So far so ok. The dog part was pretty brutal, but other than that it's not as gripping as the first season was right away. Still obviously keen to see where it goes. This plays a lot more like a visual novel though this time around which is ok because the game elements in it are shithouse. |

Ocarina of Time on 3DS is a very nicely updated version. I consider it superior to the original both in presentation and control but without sacrificing what made the first one great. Link between Worlds is very similar in design to Link to the Past. It looks a lot better but plays very similarly. If you didn't enjoy Link to the Past I'd get Ocarina of Time before Link Between Worlds. Link Between Worlds is a better game but ridiculously easy. Ocarina of Time is well structured and provides a different experience. You should just get both though. You've got the best of 3D and isometric Zelda games right there and the 3DS platform suits them well!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll probably end up getting both at some point, I'll just decide on which one to get first. |

Did you like the gameplay of Link to the Past? If yes grab Link between worlds as it's a better, easier game. If not try Ocarina of Time first. That's the official Chickapinion... a new phrase I'm trying to coin, get memed, and make mainstream. I have a feeling it shan't take off |

I only played half of LTTP, and liked it. I never got to finish it because my GBA's screen has gotten worse (actually I should probably play it again through an emulator and try to finish it this time). Also my gut tells me I should get OoT first simply because I always prefer playing the older games first. Edited by Twisted, Aug 4 2014, 05:23 PM.

Ocarina of Time looks more current than a Link Between Worlds ![]() I never realised LTTP was released on GBA. |

I've been playing Skyrim recently. It seemed to get good reviews, so I thought it was about time I gave it a shot. I haven't played any previous Elder Scrolls games, but have played the two Bethesda-published Fallout games, so that's my reference point. In some ways, the game feels more overwhelming than the Fallout games: there are way more things in my quest log than I know what to do with. In particular, the "miscellaneous" section has become a bit unmanageable. I usually have most quest markers disabled to make the compass dial useful, but that also means I probably walk past many quest objectives without knowing. This is probably just a console thing, but the weapon select seems a lot more clunky. In Fallout, I could set up 8 quick selects mapped to the directions on the D pad. In Skyrim, it seems that I've only got two quick selects and a favourites menu that pauses game play. I think I preferred having more quick select slots. I had fun playing as a werewolf, and have now turned into a vampire. It is somewhat more convenient being able to able to transform at will, but its more annoying having to deal with all the weaknesses. In contrast, I could pretty much ignore the werewolf power when it suited me. |
