Do I really come off as bothered in my last post? All I meant to say was that I'm not interested in the technical side of the matter. It's like if I were to say I think Dark Souls is fun and have someone lecture me on why I'm playing it on the wrong platform. I'm beyond indifferent. Though looking back I can see that my original post is vague enough that I might seem like I'm talking from a technical point of view.

I don't get why you think you might have come off as harsh or that I was offended by your post.

I thought you were quoting me and commenting on me claiming I am superior cause I use PC. I read it wrong and I apologise.

Dark Souls analogy doesnt really work, what Im implying is that PC gives you more variety with emus and its kind of ironic that it can emulate the Wii in HD.

I tried Wii on PC once but the framerate was too low to be enjoyable. Obviously it's just my low-end laptop's fault but it's just not a viable option for me.

Yeah you need a fast PC to emulate Wii at a steady rate.

Really? I love emus on my PC. Have all the old controllers (with USB connections and drivers) so they feel really good. Only one I didn't get a controller for was the gamecube but I was able to get a converter. Didn't bother me much anyway though as I never really liked that controller.
PC? Pfft. Handhelds are they way to go ;)

I recommend the GP2X Wiz or Caanoo, which are open-source Linus-based devices that can play a ton of emulators, movie formats and more. My favourite use is ScummVM to play my old point and click adventure games. Both the Wiz and Caanoo are touch screen and come with a stylus.

I've been trying to play FFXIV on the Vita using the Vita-PS4 remote play feature, but the performance has been very poor. I've used remote play for other games and it's worked quite well, so I'm not sure what the issue is here.

Has anyone else tried remote play and how'd you find it?

Started Deadpool today. Humor is obvious but fun and the gameplay is ok although very repetitive. It's a mindless beat-em-up that laughs at itself the whole time. Exactly what I was after in a follow up for Dark Souls 2 :)

The humour in Deadpool was enough to pull me through the game. I was a bit surprised to learn after completing the game that it had a set of alternative costumes, but you probably won't ever bother using them, since they are only available in the challenge mode.

After you complete each chapter of the game, a challenge map based on that level is unlocked. At first, only bronze level difficulty is available, but when you finish that it will unlock silver, which will unlock gold, which will unlock infinite mode. There is a different alternate costume associated with the infinite mode of each map. And you can only use the costume in that one mode of that one map, rather than it being unlocked for general play.

Were the challenge modes fun to play? I enjoyed the ARkham Asylum ones but never finished them. Can't see Deadpool's as being anything other than arena modes. I assumed there were alternate costumes as, on the title screen, he occasionally wears something different like an X-Men outfit or one of his alternate costumes.

The challenge modes in Batman were frustrating because they weren't what I played the game for. I never understood the inclusion of them.

Started on Sleeping Dogs over the weekend. Not bad. I wish there were more open world games that weren't set in America.

That's what made them ideal IMO. They used the mechanics from the game but with set pieces. Great way to add extra content to the game whilst making it interesting and new at the same time. Much better than challenge rooms which are just rehashes of bits of the game (like the arena bits in GOW or Dante's Inferno). Those were good too actually but I felt the Batman ones did something different a lot better.

Relating to your second point have you tried the Yakuza or Shenmue series (the latter is harder to find nowadays as it's on older consoles)? There are quite a few non US ones

I guess my frustration with the challenge rooms is that that's all the DLC was for a while. There was Harley's Revenge which I haven't played, but other than that it's more challenge rooms. I wanted more story dammit! That's just me being greedy though.

I've tried Yakuza and didn't mind it. I haven't tried Shemue only because it's hard to find and the fact there's no third game in the series turns me off. I would love to play an open world game in London or Paris or Sydney. Would be great.

But they made sequels so there's always that :) They're entire new games too!
