Oh that's strange then. Should be just a case of follow the prompts. Hold the stick in the direction indicated until the prompt changes. |

I do do that though. It says 'hold L stick and rotate' but every time I hold it and rotate it the bomb explodes. It looks like you move it in a counterclockwise motion and that's not doing anything. So close to the end as well. |

Yep. Most Marvel licensed Activision games were removed from sale on digital stores (Steam, PSN, Xbox Live) at the start of the year. The same happened with Capcom's Marvel vs Capcom 3. It seems to be related to Disney renegotiating the contracts as they came up for renewal after the merger. |

Interesting. I was looking to eventually get Deadpool eventually so will hunt it down somewhere in the future. |

You can still buy it new on disc for consoles. It's just unlikely that there will be any new discs made from now on. There's no online pass or similar though, so second hand copies are an option too. It's obviously not as high budget as many games, but I am enjoying it for what it is. |

Played some more of Deadpool last night. I slapped an unconscious Wolverine and motorboated Cable. |

Squeeze, of course. That seemed most in character. |

I've recently dusted off the old PSP and currently playing an English subtitled Valkyria Chronicles 3. Took some effort to install the English patch for it, but managed to get it working using the imported UMD method. I am well on my way through the game. It's Valkyria Chonicles in its most refined form: It's more balanced and challenging than the previous games. My units and tank are going down left and right after each scenario. Interception fire is incredibly potent now, which makes engagements alot tougher and flanking more crucial. Orders are actually useful now as they cost alot less Command points to use and can allow a unit to push through some heavy pressure. Enemy tanks and Lancers hit harder to the point where Heavy tanks are very worthwhile, with the added bonus of them costing 1 command point to use this time. And since larger tanks are more viable, Im actually using the attachments and utilities to suit each mission now to make up for lost mobility. While it's the most refined and balanced in terms of gameplay, to achieve this, the game has made some streamlined compromises that may rub fans of Valkyria Chonicles 2 in the wrong way. With the biggest change being how units progress individually. Which is a complete departure of what we've been seeing for the franchise. But there is still alot of depth available with units being able to freely switch classes and with a new accommodating potentials system that encourages the switching of classes. What hasnt changed here is that the game still has a ludicrous evade mechanic. It's a mechanic allows luck play into the execution of good strategy; it has always felt out of place in a system where accuracy, defense and potentials already act as combat modifiers. And for those that may miss this: Tripping over land mines will still one shot your units. |

Did you recently patch it? I patched it using their first release and it's got quite a few spelling errors and a lot of the text falls outside of the box. I'm curious if they've fixed it up. That said, I'm so glad they released it. Such a fantastic game.

Yeah. Got the recent one. Patched about 2 weeks ago. There are still text outside the box (mainly non story text during the start of the chapter) and errors still present, but it's not really a deal breaker. I can just reread it in the correct manner and understand what was said. So far, I like the characters, tone, scenarios and narrative more in VC3 than the professionally localized VC2 and VC1; despite the rough translation and smaller production values. Where the patch falls flat though is that the in game encyclopedia and newspapers are not translated. Which is a shame as the game loses out on some potential world-building. Valkyria Chonicles has a really strong game world behind it. |

Playing through Ico and nearly finished my first play through. It's an ok game that I'm sure will have a good ending. Yorda is a right pain to navigate though. |

Was Yorda the Escher type place with all the water? I started Child of Light last night. The game's enjoyable enough but the combat's a bit lacklustre at the moment and I'm kinda tired of the "hand drawn graphics coupled with atmospheric slow piano music" theme that so many games slap on to be "artistic". It certainly achieves success in that it provides atmosphere but I guess I'm just a bit over the style as so many games have used it recently. |
