I'm up to the police station now (further than I got when playing on PC). Certainly enjoying it a lot more now that I've learnt how the AI works (or doesn't work) and how to exploit it. I've tried playing tactfully but it's too inconsistent for me to find enjoyment. If I blind side someone with a knife and they fall to the ground in a pool of blood they shouldn't be able to get up again and kill me from behind. Makes it painstaking when I have to wait and ensure each person "stays dead". Same with me using doors to knock people over. It only works 75% of the time with the other times having the door just pass thru them and they enemy sucker punching me. Another glitch I seem to be getting is with the fat men not staying dead when shotgunned at point blank range. They proceed forward, kill me, then walk around for a bit before keeling over dead. Is this all normal stuff in your perfect game Jingles or am I special? Either way I love the story and the gameplay is surprisingly addictive. That said I've caught myself a few times repeating the same steps waiting for that one instance where the cards fall my way and I survive

Why don't you just kill them whilst they're down? Hit them with a door and then smash them with an item? Usually one they've dropped. |

I played ME3 after the extended cut was released. As far as I know the extended ending didnt really do much other than add some extra closure to some of the characters that wernt wrapped up as well as others. But it doesnt change the fact that the ending was kinda silly past 'that light'. The 3 choices still ended up being a matter of Spoiler: click to toggle lol.But I'd strongly recommend the game too. While does not give a good first impression and overall, its gameplay suffers from a 'less is more' issue. The locations you go to and the events that unfold within them were really memorable. The game does a really good job of providing an odd sense of urgency compared to previous games. Edited by Red Panda, Apr 28 2014, 07:22 PM.

Probably because you get rooted in place and dont get invulnerability frames when finishing off a knocked down person. When in the reverse, a knocked down person is immune to most attacks. |

Depends on the situation. If there's anyone else around, or likely to be around within the next few seconds, I can't afford the vulnerable downtime. Also my comment relating to the door was that smashing open a door wasn't knocking them down. It was passing thru them so the just turned and killed me. The bit about them getting up once knocked down was when you kill them with a gun or knife. They fall down and you see the blood pool. I mistakingly thought this meant thy were out but they occasionally get back up. This means I need to either mash X on every downed body to ensure it stays dead or backup and wait to see if he rises again (cue Altered Beast "rise from your grave" sound byte). I think I'm near the end now. Will be interesting to see the inevitable twist... or I've missed somethign important and not got that the static/mask interview sections are |

You can throw your weapon at them as well - go through a door, then throw your weapon at them, will knock them out quickly. I need to replay this game. |

Yeah I use that trick all the time. Esp when I want to be silent. Enter a room, throw weapon at one guy, punch the other then mash both their heads into a red paste ![]() Might have to google how to get a decent score though. Mine are terrible! |

I played all the ME games in order but went back to play the 1st game last year and struggled with it largely because the combat system was far superior in 2 and 3. |

I agree. It's a sluggish game comparatively too. |

Despite ME's many flaws, it still felt like an epic adventure. ME2 streamlined everything so much that it became a generic 3rd person shooter with some simplistic RPG elements. Honestly, I didn't like ME2 at all. It was such a disappointment. |

ME1 is still my favourite of the three. Such a great story, great characters, sense of discovery and I loved the way putting stats into things like specific weapons helped your bullets arrive at their target. Felt more "RPG" to me |

Just move really quickly is basically it. You get into a bit of a rhythm with it. |

I'd tend to agree, from the little I've played of it so far. The first game feels a lot more like a traditional fantasy RPG transplanted to a future setting with guns added, while the second felt like a shooter with RPG elements added. I enjoyed the mix they had in ME2 though, so I'm not going to say it is inferior. I'm keeping an open mind about ME1 though. |

The more I hear about the plans the original game director of ME1 had for the series the more it makes me wish he actually got to do the whole series. He was really planning on leaning on the 'sci' part of sci-fi, with the second game exploring dark matter instead of being a bottle-game that had very little impact on story as a whole. |
