The Goron escort mission is awfully awkward for 2017. The Goron got stuck behind something and I had to manuever Link at an angle to pry him loose. Do you have the DLC installed? It’s not essential, but there’s some neat extra shrines and a fifth dungeon that’s one of the best. You could be burnt out by then though. |

@Goodfellow, I think if you play one Zelda it should be Majora’s Mask. You would dig its strange, depressing aesthetic over the more traditional standard. |

I didn't have any pathfinding issues at all with it, but I just found it dull compared to the other more dramatic encounters. Yeah I have all the DLC, the only one I believe I've tried so far was the trial you get access to when you get the mastersword. Room after room of fighting enemies? No fucking thanks. How dull and restrictive. The game's biggest strength is exploration and discovery, it's like the people who designed this trial were like 'Hey! Imagine if we took that away from the player and made it drag on way too long!'. Today I looked up how to use rafts, lol. I wish I'd known earlier, it would've made a few parts easier, but I kinda like that I didn't know because it's indicative of how little the game holds your hand and lets you figure things out (despite not really being a difficult game). Also a neat little interaction; when I went up into the gerudo mountains to find the 8th heroine, I found the sword first and took a photo of it (it wasn't recognised as a quest item). Then when I got back and got the next quest, the photo of the sword was retro-actively recognised and I didn't have to go back. Voila, instant snow-boots. Edited by Doomguy, Apr 7 2018, 04:00 PM.

Seriously, though, the blood moon is the 'what a horrible night to have a curse' message from Castlevania 2 reborn 30 years later. |

I meant DLC 2. DLC 1 is unremarkable and I also didn't bother with the Master Sword Trial. It's dull and lazy that they just dump a bunch of bonus gear into the world with zero context. The blood moon is basically meaningless - all it does is let you know monsters you've killed have resurrected, a mechanic that's existed silently since Zelda 1. At least it looks impressive. I also couldn't figure out rafts and initially used cryonis to launch it slowly forward. The amount of inventive stuff people figure out is crazy. It reminds me of back when people would break Ocarina and Majora a thousand different ways. A neat one: And of course diehards have done stuff like beat the game (with all beasts and memories) without ever climbing. Edited by Moo, Apr 7 2018, 04:39 PM.

That was the last Zelda I played. The only other Zelda I played was Ocarina of Time. |

You may remember me complaining about my PS controllers not working a while ago. Along with a brand new DS4, I got a used DS3 to replace the one that kept spazzing out on me. Amazingly, it turns out that the replacement is broken in exactly the same way as my old one! It simply goes psychotic and starts randomly activating buttons without any input from me. When it does this, it ignores my inputs, making it unusable. So now I have 2 broken ps3 controllers! So annoying. I finally put in GTA V for the first time and only just started to enjoy it. This has to be down to faulty controllers, right? I've never heard of a console itself breaking the game controls, but it's weird that the new controller does exactly the same thing as the old one. |

Never buy 2nd hand controllers, who knows what problems they may have. |

It seems impossible to find new ps3 controllers in stores though. Neither JB nor EB stock them, so I was forced to go second hand. Maybe I should've just ordered a new one from ebay or something, but this seemed more convenient at the time. They did give me a year of warranty, which I thought was awfully nice for a second hand shop. Hopefully, they'll give me a replacement that works. Edited by Sir Goodfellow, Apr 8 2018, 11:24 PM.

One thing I immediately noticed in gta v is that the radio stations seem to kinda suck. I played for about 2 hours and haven't heard a single song I like. I'll probably discover some cool stuff as I get further into it, but where are my easy listening and retro stations? So far, it's mostly been some mediocre modern rap, annoying punk, screechy pop, or god awful Mexican music. I hope it gets better. GTA has always had magnificent soundtracks. This one just hasn't grabbed me straight away like all the others have. Vice City had the best music and radio stations (also best atmosphere, best city, funnest story, most on-point satire, best voice acting, best chainsaw, and really shit shooting). San Andreas had an awesome soundtrack too from the little I played. IV had Goodbye Horses, which I always looked forward to. Edited by Sir Goodfellow, Apr 9 2018, 02:46 AM.

I like V’s soundtrack - I got into a bunch of the modern songs. It also keeps up the tradition of shit shooting! Shot in the dark, but is it possible the DS3s are buggy because the rumble motor is stuffed? Maybe turning off rumble in the PS3 menu or in-game will fix the issue? |

I don't mind the shooting in V so far. It feels a tiny bit more responsive and precise, and the auto lock-on doesn't seem to let me down as often as it did in the past. Although one of the very first missions required me to drive and shoot at the same time, which was incredibly awkward and not much fun. I'm pretty sure rumble is off already. I haven't felt it in a long time on ps3. Maybe turning it back on is the magic fix! |

If you've got two controllers that seem broken in the same way, maybe something else is at fault. Maybe try connecting the controller via USB. If you can't reproduce the problems, then perhaps there is some interference on the Bluetooth connection. |

Nah, they do the same thing whether connected or not. It's apparently a well known issue with old DS3s. Some kind of ribbon comes loose. I guess the previous owner sold his faulty device rather than throw it away, and the store didn't notice it was broken since it usually takes a little while to start playing up |

If it’s anything like the shittily designed DS4, it’s probably a manufacturing issue where buttons lose their padding or protection internally. Edit: well what you just said basically Edited by Moo, Apr 9 2018, 05:22 PM.
