Borderlands is my favourite Telltale game. It distinguishes itself by being the only non-gloomy Telltale series, the dialogue is sharp and funny, and its cinematic style has a lot of verve.

The Wolf Among Us is good. It’d be a lot better I imagine when experiencing it all together. It’s got a strong noir atmosphere and the lore is unique.

Edit: In response to Ben’s PC comment, I’d make sure you can run it before buying. My laptop can run Far Cry 3 but couldn’t run Telltale Batman.

Nah, they're $25 each on steam, so psn is my only option (and only til the Easter sale ends).

Might get em. $19 sounds reasonable for 20 or so hours of gameplay. I'm sure I'll enjoy them both.

FTL is still good but a sameness sets in after a dozen hours that makes it less varied than Binding of Isaac. It doesn’t take long for random events to repeat themselves. I’ll probably play a game here and there. It’s definitely worth the price of admission.
Have you unlocked any of the other ships? I find they mix the gameplay up a significant amount. Aiming for other strategies with building your ship can also help.

I’ve unlocked a couple, I should check them out. I wanted to beat the game with the Kestrel first though.

I too think Borderlands is the best Telltale series.

The Darkness 2 is good! An above average shooter with fun combat and a well presented story. Sadly, it's painfully linear and seems too short (I've only played a couple of hours and explored every nook and cranny, yet I'm already about halfway through). It's also nowhere near as memorable as the first game, which gave you a lot more freedom to explore and thus fostered a greater connection with the world.

I also thought the dark n gritty visual style of the first one suited the material better than the weirdly cartoonish look of this one. And as surprisingly decent as the story is turning out, it's not nearly as powerful or as touching as the original so far. The first one was packed with really cool moments (hanging out with your girlfriend, watching To Kill a Mockingbird, shooting yourself in the head etc.) that the simpler ambitions of the sequel mostly can't compete with. Also, Mike Patton sounded far creepier and more enthusiastic in the original.

On the plus side, the gameplay, though simplified, feels much smoother this time around. And certainly, it's a massive improvement for Digital Extremes, whose previous game was the blandly idiotic Dark Sector.

So yeah, if the first game is worth around 8.5-9/10, this one is about 7.5. Well worth playing, though it keeps overheating my laptop.

Dragon Age: Inquisition isn’t as good as Witcher 3 (better combat though) but the amount of work that’s gone into it is staggering. I assumed it was crap because people talk about Bioware getting crapper but it’s a solid open world game with a lot of heart.

I read it has shitty sidequests and gets boring and repetitive after a while. Plus it's called Dragon Age. Ew.

I did want to play Origins before Bioware went and disappointed me by making a shitty MMO instead of KOTOR 3. Now they're dead to me.

It does have some shitty sidequests that amount to collectathons, but the environments are such a joy to explore that I never minded too much.

Yeah, the biggest surprise for me was how well crafted they are. There’s a touch of Dark Souls in how a diverging path or something in the distance makes you curious.

I was having a dream run in FTL until I sent two members to board a ship with no oxygen on it and then two others to a ship which I blew up with them still in it and then I got the remaining crew burnt to death by solar flares.

Zelda is still good, but I gotta say, these blood moons are just excessive. Why does it rise so damn often?

Yeah. It'd be fine if there was no cutscene but you've gotta hear Zelda's lame voice every time before you can skip.

There's one shrine quest based around the blood moon that stinks too.

What divine beasts have you done? I did 'em in the order Gerudo, Birdies, Zora and Gorons, and probably enjoyed them in that order.

I've done (in this order) Zora, Goron and Gerudo and I just got to rito village (which is pretty cool) today. Of the three I've done, the Goron divine beast is definitely the weakest. Far too easy (both the puzzles and boss), and the process you go through to get on it was by far the least fun.

I feel like the only "gamer" (such an embarrassing word) in the world who's never played a Zelda game. The series doesn't even sound all that special to me, but I would like to see what the fuss is about someday.

I'm still playing Darkness 2, though I can only play FPSs for short periods before getting bored, which is why it's taking me so long to finish such a short game. It's still enjoyable and fun, though grossly deficient in comparison to the first game, which I'm starting to realise was one of the coolest and most underappreciated 360 titles.

I've also been playing the Sherlock Holmes game, which is quite impressive so far. It's a fairly traditional point n click title with some clever (if undemanding) puzzles and minigames, but the biggest draw is studying the evidence you collect and deciding on a culprit. The 2 cases I've done so far have both been intriguing, though the "right" solutions haven't necessarily been the most logical, which is mildly annoying. Still, the game does a very good job of making you feel like Sherlock and is pretty damn satisfying overall.
