I wish there was a game based on the time travelling mechanic from Titanfall 2. It's such a cool concept. Is there a game that does something similar?

It’s one of the highlights of Skyward Sword.

That and the assembly line level are amazing. There’s still some neat mechanics to come. I feel the game would’ve done better if they marketed these things which make it stand out from other FPS campaigns. It’s like a CoD/Metroid mashup.

Titanfall 2 is way too short. Even shorter than CoD4! I was deliberately taking my time exploring and died a lot, yet it still took me no longer than 6 hours at most. I could easily play the campaign for another few hours without getting bored. Might replay some of the levels on easy to clean up the trophies and get some more pilot helmets.

Anyway, good game. I like how you become an unstoppable juggernaut and just steamroll through everything in the last level. Felt good being so overpowered (though the final boss did give me some trouble).

I was playing on hard and found the later levels the hardest. That boss you fight outside the flying ship was a prick.

I was talking about the very last level when you get the smart pistol that you don't even have to aim, and then the Legion loadout that instantly disintegrates all the grunt enemies. It was suddenly very easy (up until the boss) but so satisfying.

I didn't have as much trouble with the Viper boss as other people on the internet seemed to. I died a few times, but then I equipped the Tone loadout and made short work of him by spamming the R1 attack (actually, the Tone loadout worked really well for nearly all the bosses). I played on normal, which felt just right.

I forgot about that part. It was pretty satisfying right after what had happened just prior in the story. Doom is damn good at making you feel like a god all the time, even if you're not doing well.

I remember finally getting Northstar and thinking it sucked ass. Ronin was the coolest, though I mostly stuck with Tone and Ion.

Ronin is cool if you can get close, though I mostly struggled with it. It was very weak defensively, so I barely used it. I like big fuck off machine guns, so I think I mostly stuck with the one you start with, even though it didn't seem to do as much damage as the others. Tone wasn't the most satisfying to use, so I only switched to it for the bosses, even though it's probably the best and most efficient. I died quickly with Northstar a couple of times and never used it again. The fire one looked cool at first, but I found it pretty much useless thereafter.

I tried to get the gauntlet achievements last night, but realised I'm hopeless at it. I simply can't aim and wall run at the same time. That annoyed me, so I think I'm gonna shelve the game for now.

I tried Undertale afterwards. Seems really funny and unique.

First time in a decade they are doing this. Ys Origin is also heading over to the XB1 so a couple of JRPG surprises.

Soma is $13 on psn. Think I'll have to get it. I've heard it has an excellent story. Has anyone played it?

I can only say I played Amnesia (same dev) and both me and Doomguy agreed it was terrible. That said, if it doesn’t share its grating sanity effects and ugly darkness it might be worth it. What I saw of Amensia’s plot wasn’t bad.

I played it but never finished it. The story is incredibly intriguing but the gameplay is incredibly shallow and it leads to some very frustrating moments trying to sneak around the monsters. The reason I stopped playing was because of one particularly tricky area that just didn't give you enough places to hide in.

I have heard that since I last played the developer added an easy mode where monsters can't kill you. It would take away most of the gameplay but it's pretty shit anyway.

I played through Telltale's Walking Dead: Michonne last night. The story was alright for the most part, and fleshed out a bit more of the back story for the character that has only been hinted at in the TV show.

One thing bringing it down was the ending. Leading up to it, there were multiple occasions where you were given the chance to escalate or de-escalate a conflict with another group. I'd chosen options to try and talk it out, but the game then forces the other option right at the last minute.

It could probably have benefited from being a bit longer to give a bit more development to Norma and Randall. There was enough to get me interested in the characters, and there was obviously some secrets between the two that would have been nice to explore, but they never really had time to do so before the end.
