I finished the Titanfall "campaign" early last week and South Park yesterday.

Surprisingly I've dug up my 360 copy of Assassin's Creed III. I bought this at launch and played it for less than an hour. Despite that, I have the season pass and all the Uplay in-game unlocks.

I am stupid.

Killed the first gargoyle before the second even reached us. Still had time to refill my health. Proceeded to toss a firebomb and pull my binoculars out. Died in blaze of fire.

I refuse to grind. I refuse to grind. I refuse to grind.

I'm sure there's some item or magical ability out there I've missed but at this point I'm so invested in this fight within its current parameters that doing anything else would feel like cheating. It's winnable. I know it's winnable because it's been handed to me on a platter three times and I've fucked myself over by panicking.

Do you refuse to cheat? Wow, this is from the days when I recorded walkthroughs/cheats using an iPhone balanced on cardboard boxes! Lol.

With the ability to save online and restore I'd also recommend backing up your save prior to doing this (if you use it). One guy reported that it pooched his save.

South Park: The Stick of Truth

Loving the humor in this game. Feels just like an episode of South Park. Can't say I'm loving the gameplay though.

Core mechanics are ok but it feels incomplete and a little lazy. So far I've played about an hour and I've had to restart 5 times because the game got caught in a loop. E.g. in the training fights at the start I'd have to kill the archer using arrows before I could proceed. I'd get his health to zero then the game would just wait. He's meant to crawl off then Cartman tells me my next goal but, because he didn't crawl, it just sat there waiting.

The load times are pretty lame too. Every time I enter or leave a house the game freezes for a couple of seconds then does that super fast catchup to get to where I'd walked my character in the downtime (assuming I held down a direction thingy to walk). This memory management is also evident with the choppiness as the game scrolls.

Aside from that I'm really not keen on the interface. Slow to load and even change between pages. Quite frustrating when you just want to open the map to see an objective. It also doesn't appear to have been designed with intuition in mind. You can figure out how to do everything but they've strayed from almost every norma dn come up with a unique control that's kinda annoying.

Story is awesome though and I love the feel of the game. Voices and dialogue are perfect and the combat is fun when it works.

Oh yeah, one other gripe I have is similar to JAmesH's gripe with Remember Me and that's the checkpointing system. Actually that's not true, the checkpointing system is ok (for when you die) it's more the system used when loading a saved game. It's not clear where these are so, when you save and exit, it's hard to judge when you come back in.

E.g. At the start you see the stick of truth. You then have to fight off an elf attack (three training fights) and are then given a quest to go find three kids. I did all that, got Butters as a side kick, went to Tweaks house then saved the game and quit. When I loaded the game was all the way back before I saw the stick of truth!

Anyway, the game is great but the glitches and interface yuckiness are proving a big deterrent. I don't get how they could fuck up such a basic component.

Layton Mystery box is bugging me a little too. Maybe I'm just in a negative mood and shouldn't be playing games! Lol.

They seem to be repeating things but trying to introduce them as new evidence. E.g. You investigate a corpse and realise the wig has fallen off. The suspect then tells you they distinctly remember the wig being on. Your evidence files are then updated to reflect the new info.

There's a little bit more dialogue (not case related) then they say "but there's something else strange about this case". You then have to point to a person's statement and the evidence it contradicts. The answer is the wig and the statement saying it hoadn't been removed however we'd already established that so why re-intrduce the evidence we just found but make out like it's new?

Grinding doesn't really help a whole lot anyway. You need some help nigga.

Problem with help is that there are always a bunch of people who just want to do shit for you. I remember playing one of the bosses and a guy came in and just sprinted thru the level and owned the boss. Really annoyed me.

Are you playing the US version callofduty69? Coz I thinnk I'm up to the same boss and would be happy to join teams for it

I'm playing a standard 360 version but I don't have Live Gold unfortunately.

Nuttz I read your spoiler and I knew that. I kinda wanna save that guy 'til later if that's possible. I'm not having him wipe out the gargoyles. This is between me and them.

You don't need to worry about saving him for later. The cool thing about the lore of the game is that a lot of the gameplay elements are included in it, kind of like Bioshock. The NPC's kind of follow the same rules as you do, if they're summoned and die then they respawn at a bonfire and you can summon them later. If they die outside of a summon then they 'hollow' and essentially disappear from the world. So yeah, don't worry about abusing the summons, some of the later bosses are fucking tough without any help. Try putting down a summon sign too, helping out in someone else's game is really fun and a good way to earn souls/get your humanity back.

I don't have an online subscription so I can't do it. I'll start trying summoning now though.

I can't believe the door across from the fire-blowing dragon in the Undead Burg -- which I just unlocked with a key I forget picking up and which is so non-descript I'd forgotten it was there -- leads not only to a boss but a complex sewer system beyond the boss AND an underground cave castle beyond that (where I died). I was expecting a room with a ring or something.

BTW I went to the dragon to see if my fire-resistant shield would get me past the fire. It didn't.

There's a game on the tip of my tongue that also has its areas link up in interesting ways, where you have that moment of recognition where you realize you're about to walk into a familiar area. It's possibly Resident Evil. Anyway I really like that aspect.

I've just started playing Infamous: Second Son and Final Fantasy X HD.
Infamous is good from what I've played so far, I'm enjoying more than the previous instalments anyway.
As for FFX, I loved that game back when I first played it years ago, looking forward to getting back into that world again :)

I have been playing XCOM: Enemy Within, It's actually really really awesome now.

The pacing of the game is strong in terms of research, building and general map movement, there is ALOT of new maps and a new human faction to fight against that has some pretty good AI.

The biggest problem is that most encounters have become easier with the new power-creep added from the new content. But on the flipside, the maps are really elaborate and unpredictable for it to still provide some challenging predicaments.

Though I would have liked to have seen some interface improvements as the game still retains some interface issues left from the base game.
