xbox 360 controllers were so well made. I've played all 3 souls games with the same one and have rage abused it quite a bit and it carries on like nothing happened. What a champ. |

I recently had to buy a new PS4 control because the R2 trigger stopped working. It's apparently a common flaw. Also the joystick padding on both my controls wore to nothing in little over a year. And they charge $80 for the pieces of shit. I would've gone third party but the only one cheaper than the official one is wired, ew.

Yeah that reminds me of when I owned the Razer Onza tournament edition, basically just a """nicer""" officially licensed 360 controller. Had some nice features but the problem was the left trigger died THREE fucking times on me. Every time I returned it I got it back and it worked for a while before dying before eventually. After the third time I returned it they told me "Oh yeah the 12 month warranty is over now lol" and I was left over $100 out of pocket (about $65-70 for the initial cost and a good $10+ each time I shipped the piece of crap back to them). Considering the keyboard from them I owned when I first built my PC was also faulty I will never ever again buy any electronic products from those ricer fucks. I own a mousemat and mouse bungie from them, though, nothing to complain about. But yeah I replaced that piece of garbage with the microsoft 360 controller for half the price and its been golden ever since. Edited by Doomguy, Aug 17 2017, 08:37 PM.

Finished the game. It was alright, I guess. |

I should probably expand upon that. I was pretty disappointed that 3 didn't return to 1's world design. 3 seems just as lazy as 2 was in that they opted to just give the player the ability to teleport around the world from the beginning rather than carefully craft a tangled web game world. I'd compare it to the lazy modern FPS design of just giving players recharging health rather than have to playtest levels and dish out just the right amount of health packs and supplies. As much as there was some level of tedium involved in having to manually go from A to B for the lion's share of the first game, there were enough shortcuts built into the world that it really wasn't that bad, and it really helped remind me of places I still needed to explore. In 2 and 3 its so much easier to forget about paths you haven't taken yet because you might get to the next bonfire and then you'll spend the rest of the game teleporting past that area. I think that connected feeling the world had made the progression feel a lot more epic, like the world had more scale or something? I'm not really sure how to describe it but I just absolutely didn't get that feeling in 3. It all just felt so much more mundane despite the prettier, more colourful and varied graphics in 2 and 3. I also think the Boss difficulty levels in 2 and 3 were worse than the first game. Also, while kinda unfair, I think 3 being the first game I experienced being invaded brought the experience down a peg. It's not something I enjoy at all. I'm aware that 1 probably has the benefit of being the first I played, as well as being more shrouded by nostalgia, but it will definitely go down in my memory as the best souls experience with 2 and 3 being failed imitators. I would say without too much hesitation that I enjoyed 3 more than 2, but it lacks just as much of the spark that made the first game so good despite it being less refined in other ways. I mean, it should speak volumes that I have a really low tolerance for poor performance, and that the first game with its terrible PC version and framedrops (even with the DSfix mod) was a much better game to me than the two sequels that had vastly superior performance. |

Agreed about the world design, it's a bummer they have never returned to DS1's interconnections. The elevator in Undead Parish taking me back to Firelink Shrine is one my favourite gaming moments ever. However I do like that 3 doesn't sprawl to a bunch of dead ends like 2: there's a straight path from Undead Settlement to Aldrich/Profaned Capital that's varied enough to not feel linear. 3's improvements on 1 are mostly technical. The combat is clearly better in that sense. It suffers in comparison because it's not even trying to be original. I get the sense the director poured his heart into Bloodborne and approached 3 mechanically. It's a very solid game, but 1 and Bloodborne are better. |

Yeah, the game felt like it was just DS1 fanservice at many points. The landscape was so tangible in the first game, but in 2 and 3 everything feels like its just a big pretty backdrop. You're right that its not as severe in 3, it was a bit more connected but not as much as I'd hoped for. If the director was so focused on mechanical improvements, surely he'd have the good sense not to put a depth perception destroying fog floor on the hardest fight in the game?. I very well may just abandon the fight with the Nameless King, we'll see, but now that I've finished the game and I know my feelings of disappointment in it I don't think I have that much motive to bother with it. Smough & Ornstein was a absolute mother bitch of a fight but it was totally fair. You just had to beat two tough, aggressive enemies at once, no bullshit. With this I'm fighting a non-mandatory boss in a game that I don't like as much that has the difficulty artificially inflated by a vision hindering graphical effect and a troublesome camera. Maybe I just need to take a cool off period and come back to it, but as I said I don't feel like I've got much motive to even do so. |

I do actually want to more than ever try Demons souls and Bloodborne, particularly the latter. I want another souls experience thats actually as good as DaS1. 2 and 3 just really don't live up, so disappointing. |

Nameless King is a fair but extremely hard fight because he doesn't let up. Though I understand not bothering with it if you're sick of repeating KotS. You should hang on to your save and get the DLC when it's on sale. |

Pretty big maybe on the DLC. Don't really like buying DLC at all in most cases. I find it most games I've usually had my fill from the main game and don't really want more (which is how I feel at the moment, I may want more in a couple months, though). We'll see. I think next time I want something resembling souls I'll probably play Hyper Light Drifter which I actually bought a week or so before buying DSIII. Will be interesting to see how it stacks up, I've heard good things. I'm glad I waited for the 60fps patch. |

Yoshi's Woolly World is decent but I hate when a flower is hidden in an invisible flying ? and I have to backtrack jumping into all the empty spaces to find it. Nioh is still a quality game though it suffers from a lack of enemy types. The bosses are the highlight - it's Souls quality on that front. It's also semi-historical and weaves events and mythology into the plot. The plot's kinda kooky and fun. Combat is more varied than Souls with extensive ninja and magic abilities available on top of the basic stuff, and it doesn't hurt you to spread your stats out more in that respect. |

Unbeliavably, I still haven't even unpacked my consoles since moving about 4 months ago. I genuinely feel like finally playing Bloodborne, but just can't seem to get around to unboxing the ps4 and hooking it up to the TV. Pathological. Laziness. |

Several years late but completed Walking Dead season 1. Probably one of the better stories I have enjoyed in a long time, some moments had me almost cry. The dog grave digging up and of course the final scene with Lee and Clementine were quite emotional. |

Yeah, it's my fave Telltale after Borderlands. Walking Dead 2 is enjoyable enough but not nearly as good. Still gotta play the third season. |
