Okay, I'm starting to see the more disappointing side to Yooka-Laylee now. It's much more like Banjo-Tooie than Kazooie, meaning bigger worlds that can be confusing to navigate, and it lacks Kazooie's easygoing pace. Some of the platforming is inexcusably bad and creates whatever unpleasant nostalgia is. It has a version of Kazooie's egg-shooting that's actually worse twenty years later. It's still a chill game to play, and I'm more taken with it than most people seem to be, but the opinions are valid.

When the game came out I had actually forgot it was on the way or in development, and had a brief rush of excitement and interest. It's such a nostalgic breath of fresh air in today's market, a colourful 3D platformer that's on PC.

Then I was swiftly reminded that platformers don't really excite me anymore and I never actually owned either of the Banjo games. It sure does look pretty, though.

It seems 95% of games I play are shooters, RPGs, sandboxes or a a combination of two or all of those. I should probably play some more adventure games, I'm already looking back on the two Syberia games I played not long ago with fondness. Maybe some good RTS too. I liked StarCraft II's WoL and HotS campaigns so I should get LotV some time and play it. I've also taken an interest in 40K recently so Dawn of War III might be fun. The rare city builder and racing game can be good, too.

Like, oh em gee! The colour banding at night time in Dragon's Dogma is so ugly! Literally unplayable.

Nevermind, modders fixed it.

Have probably put 2 hours or so into Yooka Laylee. It isn't a bad game by any means but there are a few issues with it. The camera is my main problem with the game, trying to beat the first boss was extremely frustrating just based solely on the camera being stuck in one position which made it much harder than it should've been.

Unfortunately, the 1st world is the best of the bunch, at least from what I've seen. There's some seriously shitty platforming that makes me wonder how limited their quality control must have been. The worst things are the minecart sections where you need to collect X amount of gems to win; if you know you've fucked up, you can't retry but are forced to complete the track. It's such a basic oversight. I won't have the patience to go for all the pagies, though I will beat the main game.

I used an ENB for it. As well as a mod that gets rid of that awful glow around the lights emit from spells and that lantern.

Also, if you happen to run across a Mage Pawn named 'Triss' that looks like the part, that one is mine.

I did consider backing it on Kickstarter but the way Carmageddon and Mighty No 9 turned out (couple of others still in early access after a few years), I have not backed anything ever since.

LOL. Not only are those the exact two mods that I'm using, but I also grabbed Triss (having no idea she was yours) because she was one of the first pawns I came across.

Ahh that is a shame about the 1st world being the best. I've just gotten up to the snow level and it seems alright. I really wanted this game to be great, but I probably hyped it up way too much. I want to try and 100% the game but I'm not sure if just like you if I have the patience. I just want to go back to playing Bioshock 2 on PS4 lmao.

I'm getting annoying memories of Banjo-Kazooie with 199/200 feathers collected in Tribalstack Tropics.

The 4th world seems to cop the most flak, but I thought it was decent. The 3rd is my least favourite because it's difficult to figure out the layout.

I've pretty much finished Novigrad. There are some sidequests and contracts left that I'm not levelled enough to attempt, but it's time to move on to Skellige. Unlike some of you, I enjoyed Novigrad. I don't think the main story was any less dramatic than Velen. Sure, there's nothing like the Bloody Barron questline, but I enjoyed the big city feel and the atmosphere of depravity that pervaded the town. I thought the religious and racial persecution angle was conveyed well without too much unneccesary exposition.

I think I got all the good gwent cards too. My northern realms and nilfgardian decks are very difficult to beat now.

Skellige was my favourite location even considering Toussaint from the Blood & Wine expansion. Hope you enjoy it.

Got back into Guild Wars 2 again recently. Felt the need for some mindless MMO PvE to fill in time and it's doing the trick. Forgot how great a game it is. Now looking forward to reaching the cap, trying the new content, and getting back into PvP and WvW.

Anyone still play this game? I know some like Le Panda Rouge used to play quite a bit but not sure if anyone kept it up.
