Funny thing is my 360 still works (60GB Pro version). My XB1 works fine. Just Kinect died and both controllers had horrible stick drift (one on the left, the other on the right) within the first 6 months but the replacements all work fine since then. All my old consoles/handhelds work from Nintendo, MS, Sony and Sega.

Maybe when you guys go buy a new console next time, I should pick it out for you for good luck. :D
60GB 360 was not a launch model though. MS fixed the issues with that release, launch was 20GB model and released a 3 years before the one you bought.

Mine was 2005 purchase. The console didnt even have a HDMI output at the time.

Fucking unplayable. I tried to have a Witcher 3 session just now, but couldn't get anywhere because the console kept spitting the disc out every 5 minutes. It literally happened 6 times in barely over half an hour of attempted play. For all intents and purposes, my ps4 is broken. I knew about this disc eject issue, but I didn't realise it was so crippling. Damn it, I really felt like playing it. It's a good day for it, being so rainy and bleak.

It's weird though, it's only been doing this since I started the witcher. It worked perfectly with Until Dawn. There wasn't a single instance of the disc ejecting.
Temporary fix is just to hard reset the console, I did it several times and it seemed to fix the problem up for at least a few sessions until the problem arose again.

What is happening is the PS4 heats up and because of that the plastic around the screw loosens up, and vibrates more and the auto eject occurs.

There were times though when I wasnt even playing the console and it was dormant in standby mode for days and suddenly it would happen, that is when you know its getting worse.

Just be warned if you do go in and end up getting a replacement model, ensure you back up saved games on a USB. Im assuming you do not have PS+ just like me. I even backed up my shit and uploaded the save games via USB and it went wrong. I was ok with re downloading all the patches and digital games that I owned.

In all honesty I think you should just pay the difference and get a pro PS4 or at least the slim version. There are other advantages of upgrading other than 4k output (Pro) which I suspect you dont have the TV for right now. Such as a newer version of the controller, larger HDD, quieter operation and lower power consumption.

That good luck might have something to do with when you buy the system perhaps? I'm sure most consoles undergo quiet little changes. Sometimes a system might be made with higher quality components at launch but then has cost cutting measures taken to it as time goes on. Sometimes the opposite.
Got SNES a few years after launch, same with the Gameboy, 360, Mega Drive and Saturn. N64 and XB1 at launch, Gamecube and Wii was 6 months, DS was a few months. Original Xbox was a couple of years after and the PSP I won on GS which was out for a couple of years then.

So a variety of times, though not getting the 360 at launch was probably a good thing.

As I have mentioned before, I did get the Wii first and got the 360 around 18 months after that. ;)

Mine turns on in the middle of the night to eject a disc. It's fucking psycho.
I gave it a bit of a wipe around the eject button, and that seemed to fix it for the moment. Or at least it let me play for a good couple of hours with no further ejects. I would almost prefer if it was consistently broken, rather than this strange thing where it seems to depend on its mood whether it cooperates.

I thought about upgrading, though I probably won't just yet. Maybe when I get a job. For now, I'm happy with an older model as long as it doesn't eject every 5 minutes.

I'm in Valen in W3 and have discovered that I'm grossly underlevelled. The easiest secondary quest I found so far has a recommended level of 7, and I'm on level 3. I only missed a couple of sidequests in White Orchard, so I'm a bit taken aback by the sudden jump in difficulty. Now I have no choice but to only do main quests. I tried the werewolf sidequest but I keep being wiped out by the boss. I don't even get close. Seems harsh...

I seem to remember being at least level 4 or maybe even near 5 when I left white orchid. There should be stuff around that you can do, though, just keep looking.

The first slate of main quests after White Orchard are my favourite part of the game. Not everyone agrees with that but I felt the story never quite hit the same peak again.

Now that I'm thinking Zelda is about to join my list of HALLMARK GAMES, everyone post the games that blew your mind the most throughout their gaming days. These aren't necessarily your favourites, but the ones that left a huge impression.

My list:
Super Mario World
Super Mario 64
Ocarina of Time
Morrowind
Dark Souls
GTA5
Breath of the Wild?

By the way how are you finding zelda's performance? I wouldn't be surprised if I was the pickiest person about framerate on this forum, but I'm a bit put off by what I'm seeing and hearing about it. The frame drops look pretty bad and quite regular, too. Apparently the best running version is the switch in handheld :-/

Forgot San Andreas. I'd also add Metal Gear Solid as well as the last third of MGS2.

Zelda: It's there but it never hinders the gameplay. Just seems like pedantry from people getting annoyed by it. You'd be braindead to not buy it on this basis.

Vice City
Silent Hill
Cod4
Knights of the Old Republic
Goldeneye

They're my defining games. Then there's a group of about 10-12 that were almost as impactful. These include KOTOR2, Morrowind (despite looking like shit and being a chore much of the time), Yakuza 4, Call of Cthulhu, Blood Money, Metal Gear Solid, Shane Warne Cricket, Ninja Gaiden, Portal, and a few others.

I keep forgetting about CoD 4, it's the only call of duty I've ever bought. I also really liked MGS4 at the time I played it (played it again immediately after and then like another half playthrough after that) though I don't know that I'd look back super favourably on it now.

I should add Halo 3, World of Warcraft and Counter Strike (source and GO) as my hallmark multiplayer experiences. Have a lot of fond memories playing all of those.
