The dialogue in FF13-2 is killing me. I don't understand how such a high profile game can have such bad dialogue. The story is fantastic but the way it's told is blatant and poorly scripted.

That's what happens when you use google translate for your games.

It got acclaim from people that whined about the 1st FFXIII. Eg. With FFXIII having towns, but lacking 'towns'. So they added it in.

Are we talking the same thing? FF13 had dialogue. Lol.

FF13-2 feels smaller than 13 anyway. There are towns of sorts but only really two main ones it seems so far. Each area is fairly small and linear too so I don't get the feeling of a proper "world" like in the other titles. Even 10 and 12 had more of that feeling.

Academia is a great example. You land ast a portal and see this massive sprawling city however there's very limited space to where you can traverse. Looks like Hengsha from Deus Ex when you first arrive but you only have access to a couple of small areas. In Deus Ex it actually elt like you were walking thru the city.

I haven't played them but I've always assumed that Demon's Souls was a beloved game while Dark Souls was considered its weaker predecessor. Turns out they're both acclaimed and Dark Souls is the sequel. I might have to check the series out.

R-Souls was meant to be the third game but they changed it to Dark souls 2

When do you think the Xbox 360 online service will end and purchased games will not be re-downloadable anymore? Is this a few years away?

I'm trying to make space for Dark Souls.

It's a rare situation where both games are pretty much as good as each other. Dark Souls is probably more beloved as it's more popular (being on 360 as well), but I love Demon's Souls just as much.

They're definitely all great games, I'd recommend playing them all (included Dark Souls 2) if you have the time/money. Demon's Souls is probably more punishing but also simpler in a lot of ways. It uses a hub/world system like Super Mario Land, whereas both Dark Souls games are open world. I would recommend buying the DLC for Dark Souls too, it's got some of the best boss fights in the game and some pretty cool areas as well. It also does a lot for the story if you care to piece it together yourself. The story in the Souls games are really good, it's just told through talking with NPC's and reading item descriptions so a lot of people never even delve into it.

Early impressions: I've died twice in combat and haven't beaten the tutorial stage yet. I used all of my health flasks on the guy who gave me the flasks. It's very exhilarating. I can tell I'm about to become addicted to it.

I like the way you describe the storytelling. If it's like Metroid Prime (which makes the intricacies of the story and lore an optional thing for explorer-type players) I'm pumped.

I'm still in the asylum. Should I restart if I buy the DLC or will it just integrate into my save file?

I didn't restart for the DLC so I'm not sure it's important. I loved Demon Souls so much until one particular boss fight. LOVE how it encourages you to slowly traverse areas and role play like your life actually means something :)

Started playing this Layton phone game yesterday. Considering I'm not a fan of the Phoenix Wright games I didn't think I'd like the format change but, so far, it's fantastic! Def worth a try if you're interested. First two cases are free then it's about $2 for each case pack thereafter (2 case packs atm with 3-4 cases each)

Finished the story for Arkham City last night. Pretty good though felt pretty short. I've played for over 20 hours but the story felt like it only lasted about 6 - 8 hours. However the side missions are a major part of the game too and if you mainline the story then you're playing it wrong.

I still have half the side missions to complete. I spent a lot of time going around the city, looking for Riddler trophies/challenges etc. already and I'll try to get all of them. I also might try the new game+ mode.

But yeah, this is a fantastic game. Feels like the most fun I've had with a game in a while. Makes me want to replay Asylum and try to get all the riddler stuff, as I ignored pretty much all of it when I played it.
