Oh, he basically lives for games, but his parents severely restrict his playing time. Even when they let him play, it's usually the free online sidescrollers on ipad. He was only allowed playstation time once or twice a month. They seem to have relaxed the rules now that I gave him the 360. He's been playing it the last 3 days, so he'll probably get better once he has a proper run.

He's not as bad as I made out. It is frustrating for an adult to watch him walk into sealed doors in ME2 and actively resist levelling up anyone, but he had started to show signs of improvement once I showed him how to use the objective arrow. He got through the prison ship all by himself. With Lego, his main problem is that he doesn't survey the environment properly and doesn't really pay attention to on-screen hints and clues. I guess he just needs more practice.

I haven't really played Okami. I just watched my nephew play it and gave suggestions when he looked stuck. We got just past the first village before he got a bit bored and started demanding something with more action and less reading.

It does seem like a lovely game though.

I had it on Wii and it was my favourite on that system after the metroid prime trilogy

If he's having trouble with a Lego game, why not hook up a second controller and play co-op with him?

I'm not suggesting that you complete all the puzzles for him, but if he gets stuck it might make it easier to hint at what he needs to do.

That would be great, but we don't have a second controller.

It's not a big deal for him anyway. He's loving just being able to smash things for now. It's more frustrating for me watching him.

So I purposely wasn't there to help him while he was playing today. His solution? Replay the levels I did help him with (Goodfellow, I finished those 3 levels we did yesterday in 5 minutes this time!) :(. He made no progress at all. I had to suggest solutions again....

It's a very good lego game though. I'd enjoy it. Some of the puzzles do stump you for a couple of minutes and the boss fights look cool. I like it!

I can't believe Nintendo thought it wise to include Skyrim in the Switch presentation.

You have to pay for online and in return you get two games each month...but you can only play them in that month. Yeesh. And they're probably just old NES and SNES games anyway. They're just really so dumb.

They're just re-releasing Mario Kart 8 instead of releasing a new one.

New Mario looks cool. Zelda looks great. I'm not buying this console.

They are dumb, but I never really got nintendo anyway. I liked n64 because goldeneye was so awesome, but it's not like that console was brimming with great games either.

2 Zeldas, 2 Banjo-Kazooies, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Blast Corps, Mario 64, Mario Kart & Party & Tennis & Golf, Super Smash Bros., Donkey Kong 64, Conker's BFD, Pilotwings, Lylatwars...

It was very good unless you're just averse to Nintendo games in general.

I'm not averse, but banjo kazooie wasn't something I could get passionate about, and Mario 64 was something my sister played with her boyfriend in my room. I personally never really got into a mario game myself. I liked Extreme G and Star Wars Rogue Squadron. It was a good console. The original xbox (the most underrated console of all time) blew it out of the water

Diddy Kong Racing, Wave Race 64, Snowboard Kids, 1080 Snowboarding, Beetle Adventure Racing, Bomberman, Crusin' USA/World, Destruction Derby, Extreme G, Excite Bike, F-Zero, KI Gold, Paper Mario, Pokemon Puzzle League/Stadium 1 and 2/Snap, Star Wars Rogue Squadron/Episode 1 Race/ Shadows of the Empire, Tetrisphere, 4 Turok games, Yoshi's Story.

Plus many more. You will never see a console again with the quality to ratio of games released that the N64 had, Nintendo and Rare were at the top of their games.

SNES was the king of ratio games over its lifespan. It was also the go to console for all developers and publishers, in my opinion N64 was the gen that Nintendo lost many titles to PS1.
