Yeah after seeing it on some end of year lists I'm curious, though I wonder if someone who's never played Hitman could follow it. |

Random thought: I played it a couple of years ago but To the Moon has the most poignant twist I've ever seen in anything. |

I really cant remember the particular twist. Or much of the game other than a few standout moments - none of them really being twists. Was it Spoiler: click to toggle

Of course you could follow it. Hitman was never about the story. Blood Money was dead set one of the most awesome games I've ever played, and definitely the best pure stealth game (though when you fuck up and it turns into a shooter, it gets pretty awful). Hitman 2 was awesome as well, but much too hard for a wimp like me. I might have to get this new one now that the season is finished. I gave in and started The Last of Us. I was kinda holding out for the remastered PS4 version with all the DNC included, but in the end settled for the one I already have. The prologue was fantastic. Harrowing stuff. I'm less enamoured with the shooting, which feels floaty and imprecise, and stealth, which seems a bit frustrating so far. Seems barely possible to sneak through an area without combat. I'm enjoying the atmosphere though. Edited by Sir Goodfellow, Jan 4 2017, 10:55 AM.

TLOU's DLC can be downloaded as a standalone game on PS4. |

I had a hint that was the case prior to some reveal, which is probably why I never remembered it as some twist. ANYWAY. I played Inside. I think im about 2/3rds through. The game is cool. I think it does a better job of keeping some coherence with the worldbuilding and gameplay than LIMBO did. LIMBO kinda felt disjointed, starting from a trial and error means to present its narrative and then completely dropping it and becoming a solid puzzle-platformer. Inside seems to just keep the mechanics and narrative/worldbuilding tightly woven together so far. I hate dogs. |

Also if Inside pulls some stupid meta-nonsense that regards to the control of the protagonist, I will flip a table. |

I'd almost say it feels worse. The clunky interface coupled with shitty load times and world filler quests makes for an average experience. Very nicely polished, but just average. I did like the combat. Very simplified (hold one button to continually attack or another to block, aside from that it's all positioning, timing, and specials) but... something just doesn't feel fun. The narrative dissonance and cookie cutter story (so far) doesn't really inspire me either. At least I was somewhat interested in the story of FF13 |

Been away on holidays this past week so have been playing only portable games. Fire Emblem Fates Conquest on my 3DS to be exact... although I did bring Hearthstone (phone) and Heroes of the Storm (PC) and a bunch of baord games I'm pretty sure noone here cares about so I can sate my addictio when the sun and pool grow tiresome ![]() First gripe with Fire Emblem was the way they spend the first 6 chapters introducing you to the characters then prompt you for a fairly major decision. Turns out this is linked to the version of the game you buy. I don't mind that they did it as it seems to be two completely separate games AND you can purchase the alternate stories as DLC- but I still felt annoyed when I realised that what felt like an integral story decision was DLC. Why give me all the leadup and build the story then give me the choice if I don't have the required DLC? Anyway, not so much a gripe now. If I'dpaid attention to the Nintendo Directs and promo instead of just taking the "I'm going to buy it anyway, avoid all discussions/hype" then I would have realised. Regardless I'm loving it. Feels much harsher than the last one with pairing up and attack assists seeming much more important. In fact, without properly knowing class weaknesses and strengths it feels like you wouldn't be able to pass most levels. No whassisname on the horse to one hit wonder most of the game ![]() That said I just hit chapter 9 (Nohr story) and have decided to change from classic to casual. That means that, when a character dies, they leave the battefield to recover for the next chapter - rather than permanantly dying. Kinda wished I'd turned it on earlier as I lost a cool axe wielding dude that would have been very useful at my current stage!

The fal'cie waking up or some shit? I resented the story of FF 13. It was complete gibberish. Couple that with the pristinely linear environments (clop clop clop) and the unreasonably emo teen characters, I can safely say I fucking despise that game. May be the very worst game I ever finished. |

I liked Brothers. I thought that thing they pulled using the controller was cool, but not the reason why I liked the game overall. That game just has some killer pacing and a good sense of adventure for such a short game.. You'll understand what I'm getting at once you play INSIDE. I dont want to spoil much, but there's some mechanics going on in the game that's kinda similar to the Swapper but toys around with some indirect control scheme. |

I never got around to finishing FF12. It was more a case of losing steam over three dozen hours than anything else. It's a quality game, and an aberration in that the characters are almost devoid of emo-ness and are all-around likeable. Hearing how crappy 15 is destroyed the last vestige of interest I had in the series. |
