Now that I think about it, Guild Wars 2's underwater areas and combat were pretty dope.
Agreed.

I've recently been playing World of Warcraft Legion and it's surprising how much of the GW play style they've adopted over the years. Feels much more fluid and versatile now - although still not as nice as GW.

Did you ever play WoW?

Playing a review copy of LUXIS and, for some reason, they sent me an extra few Steam keys. Anyone interested (PC only atm, Linux and Mac expected later this year)

Sharpshooters can just be a little situational when you're tight on time, but work so well when paired with Rangers to do some squadsight spotting for them. Never tried the gunslinger line much, but it does sound cool.

I find Grenadiers and Psi Ops to be the most effective classes because grenades are too useful in this game plus it has chain shot and PSI Ops are just too versatile, broken if you luck out on a good skill roll. But I like that the classes support each other better than the first game.

Might be a confused Sectopod.

Like for 3 months of vanilla WoW when I was in year 11-12.

Stopped playing for obvious reasons and never returned to it.

Yeah, the support between classes is great. I trained up a Psi Operative and was impressed, but she died on her first mission. My second one is about ready to go.

Typically I use two sharpshooters, one of each other class, with the sixth soldier being either a ranger or specialist. Those extra medkits have got me out of a few jams.

Two overwatch things I hate:
-You can't choose whether or not a ranger using Conceal purposely reveals themselves to take an overwatch shot.
-Soldiers overwatch shooting mind controlled comrades. Nearly lost a colonel today over this.

Beat it on Veteran Ironman with 7 soldiers lost. Once I had a bunch of colonels and a fully trained Psi Operative things became very easy. The final mission was way easier than the first game's for me. I will have to try commander difficulty in the future.

Does anyone here play Overwatch? I've been keen to give it a shot but am worried I'll end up paying for something I already have in TF2. Curious as to whether view it as a decent class based shooter/worth the money.

I dont play it as much anymore. But Overwatch is alot more structured than TF2 as the online infrastructure is better. It's also a different game, where there's alot more focus on asymmetry with a large pool of well designed classes that are based on gameplay themes over specific roles. It makes the game being about team composition and team synergy instead of just filling an objective based role in TF2; meaning that there's alot of Rock, Scissors, Paper to engagements compared to most shooters. The movement in general and abilities feels more fun than TF2. The shooting mechanics is alot more forgiving and easy to get a grasp of than TF2, but it's still quite enjoyable.

If you have others to play it with in particular, it's a no brainer. It's even a fun game for solo queue too, but I'm not sure how fun it will be if you're just jumping into it now as I'd imagine the pool in being matched up with equally experienced new players might be small.

Overwatch is probably my front runner for GOTY.

I played Oxenfree up until the stepbrother got possessed and started levitating but I just don't feel compelled to keep going. I actually preferred it before the supernatural stuff started happening.

I risked buying Civilization VI even though I didn't meet the minimum requirements. Currently playing on lowest settings in strategic mode at <10fps. Good enough!

Actually it isn't, it takes a minute to load each turn and I can't imagine how much worse that must be once things get more complex.

On the subject of buying multiplayer shooters, does anyone have any opinions on PvZ: Garden Warfare 2? I see it is part of the Halloween sale on PSN at the moment.

I enjoyed the first game, but got it free so I'm on the fence about spending $40 on the sequel. I guess that doesn't sound too bad if I amortise it over the two games though.

I entered the AMD Catalyst Center and set Civilization VI to "High Performance". The game did NOTHING when I loaded it on Steam for about 5 minutes and then inexplicably started. It runs very well on low settings. I have no clue why this fix worked, but it did. I'm stoked.

Strangely, I've had the same issue with several other games since upgrading to Windows 10. They run fine but take forever to start.

Playing Stellaris. I don't think the developers have the etymology downpat. I'm playing as an intellectually advanced fungoid species from the planet Blorg and my governor's name is Geoffrey Schneider.

I've been playing alot of F12016's career mode. I have this game running at 120 FPS and it's a beautiful sight.

Driver name: PIKA RAICHUNNEN - An Australian born driver of Japanese/Finnish descent that grew up in Broadmeadows Victoria. He was enrolled in Mclaren’s junior racing program after being scouted blitzing a rexy around his neighborhood streets at the age of 12. Sadly, he refuses to partake in this Australian podium phenomenon of drinking champagne from a shoe.

Pika Raichunnen is currently 8th after 5 races. But he and his team mate Alonso has miraculously taken their shitbox McLaren with its Honda engine and Sensodyne sponsor to 4th in the constructors standings, which is exceeding the teams target and being ahead of midfield rivals. But Raichunnen and Alonso are going to take this once great McLaren team back to its former, sink or swim cultured, drama stirring, team order calling and politics fueled glory.
