So I completed the 15 championships in Forza Horizon 2 and won the big race around the entire map, but I am confused if I have actually completed the game?

I get that there are more championships to complete in different classes and all the other side bonuses like rivals, barn finds, bucket lists etc but have I essentially completed the main campaign?

Oh and fuck this 314/315 roads discovered, I have looked everywhere on the map and cannot find the last road.
You completed the main part of the game, there are well over 100 championships in total (which you can do in any order). You finish 3 of them, then return to the festival and keep doing it until you finish them all.

I found the last road to been a very small off road (like a small line). You need to look really carefully to see it.

I've been playing Batman: Arkham Knight over the last week and a bit. For the most part, it's a nice evolution of what they did in Arkham City. There are a few things that have been pissing me off though:

1. the tank battles get a bit tedious after a while. The stealth missions against the cobra tanks even more so.

2. the default controls for the batmobile: in particular, the decision to use the left trigger as a context switch to battle mode. I lost count of the number of times I'd want to slow down to take a corner and suddenly lose all momentum as I switched to battle mode and the batmobile started strafing rather than turning. I'm really puzzled why the alternative control scheme wasn't the default: as well as having more standard driving controls, you don't have to constantly hold a trigger down while in battle mode.

3. the fact that two of the gadgets you need to either access certain areas or defeat certain enemy types are just sitting around for you to pick up at any time rather than making them obvious to you. I got really frustrated in one combat section where I'd knocked everyone out except for this brute with electric gauntlets where nothing I did would hurt him. I ended up looking it up online where other people had run into the same issue and the solution was to use the remote electric charge gadget. I then looked up how to get the REC, and it turns out I could have picked it up right at the start.

I will say that it is a very nice looking game though. I especially like the Adam West bat suit: the fabric has just the right sheen, and the painted on eyebrows look ridiculous next to all the other art in the game.
I've noticed the tank battles cop a lot of flak, but I really enjoyed them. Similar to Assassin's Creed ship battles, I found the tank missions to be a nice change of pace to the typical gameplay, without being too disruptive. However, I do agree the controls were a little weird. If you're still playing it, expect much more of the tank to come!

What caused the novelty to wear off was the cloudburst section of the game, where you're effectively trapped in the batmobile for a few missions. The big tank battle at the end of that section was probably the least fun I've had so far. Taking out the supporting cobra tanks was tedious: it seemed to take ages for one of the tanks to break away from the group so I could sneak up on it to shoot its weak point. And then you had the boss tank that would chase you each time you shot it, managing to keep up with the batmobile even when using the afterburner.

For most of the game up until that point, the tank battles seemed like a fun diversion since they didn't drag on too long and helped break up the routine.

I guess my main problems are that the batmobile usually doesn't offer any speed advantages when moving around the map, and the driving controls feel a bit wonky: one moment it feels like this big heavy powerful vehicle ploughing through everything on the road, and the next it is bouncing off things like it is light as a feather.

I did as many sidequests as possible in FFXII and now I'm burnt out and probably won't finish it. I'm up to Barfonheim Port. The game is waaaay longer than I thought it was, I'm well over 50 hours already. I might hop back to it soon and just push through the main quest to see how things end. I still really like it overall.

So Pokemon Go seems a lot easier to play in central Sydney compared to suburban Perth. This is what it showed from my hotel room last night:

A much higher density of pokestops, and most seem to be lured 24/7. I'm actually running out of resources here.

Enjoy the endless hordes of Zubats.

But the harbour/opera house has everything to the point where it defeats the purpose of going or walking elsewhere when you can just be in one spot and get everything.

I get enough bats, rats, and pigeons back home. While I'm still seeing those pokemon here, it seems to be at a lower rate. That could just be due to the game deciding to mainly spawn water creatures here though.

Anyone here playing No Man's Sky? I'm interested but not willing to pay the high price tag from a game whose Steam reviews seem to be focused on the fact that it becomes boring quick and adds variety by changing the color of existing assets.

It's $62 on GoG.

I posted a few screens here, but also raised a concern about performance on PC. If you are interested, I recommend waiting to see if its patched.

I get a Mass Effect 1 vibe from those barren planets where there's nothing to do.

XCOM Council spokesman should be in every game.

Really enjoying XCOM 2 (playing with some mods). I like how the game is framed around this resistance movement that works to enhance the overarching management layer of the game. You're a moving base: flying around the world, making contact with regions, expanding your resistance, building communication improvements, exploiting resources your resistance network has found and progressing research; basically very basic Civ mechanics within an asymmetrical scenario. It's a big improvement over the satellite management menu in the last game and one I'd like to see a mod or expansion develop expand upon.

The campaign works just as well within the tactical combat missions as you're plotting a guerrilla war where you're doing the invading. Not only does it give the game this hostile atmosphere, but it serves as a platform for excellent mission and encounter designs. There are missions to defend a line, missions to assassinate, blow up targets, escort or rescue VIPs, smash-n-grabs, all of which provide the right amount of pressure in time or enemy reinforcements that add an evacuation plan as the mission parameters has you needing to evacuate the mission area. And it all just works so well with the new conceal/stealth mechanics that the game has added, where setting up a perfect ambush just feels so satisfying.

My biggest gripe with Xcom 2 (and the mobile game who's name eludes me) was the bonus turns an enemy got when you first saw them. If you uncovered an alien on your final character's move - they ran around the map setting up position - then got their turn. Always left me feeling salty

Only played XCOM1 but that goes two ways chump. Aliens can enter your field of view first and get completely slaughtered. I get what you're saying though. It's a bit annoying that you're basically running in blind and it's simply roll of the dice whether initial contact falls to your advantage.
