Felt the need to play a FPS after finishing Dishonoured and went to BLOP2. Played about 4 levels and bored out of mind so I just uninstalled the game and tried something else.

Enter Wolfenstein. Now this is an enjoyable FPS, I certainly understand the praise the game received.
The first Black Ops I played the Most MP of all the COD games (though the campaign was average).

2nd game was a big letdown, the MP was essentially the same as the MW games (that and the MW3 MP were so similar). Ghosts MP I only played locally against bots, the campaign was 6 hours long on Veteran.

I never understood why people like Halo, it is one of the most boring FPS games.
Its not just the campaign that I have a problem with, I have never been a fan of Treyarch's handling of the game mechanics either. I get absolutely no sense of shooting from the weapons, enemies feel like paper weights and the movement feels like the character is floating on air.

I cant even remember the campaign of BLOPS1, goes to show how memorable it was. Playing BLOPS2 im like wtf is going on, none of this makes any sense, the characters are not memorable.

Im done with COD, no more wasting my time or money on any of the later games.
It's interesting you say that as Tryarch have the best track record with their multiplayer. They put together a much better package than infinity ward.
The worst for character movement is Ghosts, by a long shot. I don't know how they did it, but they managed to make everything just feel so bad
Dont agree, Infinity Ward did it better in multiplayer with MW series. Peaked for me up to MW2 and anything after that became tired and boring, including zombie mode that is so overly praised to Treyarch.

Infinity Ward was COD and Treyarch were the cheap impostors that bit everything they did. You only need to look at the succession of games released and see the patterns.

When IW became a shadow of their former selves only then Treyarch became the standard and it wasnt due to them getting better but the overall standard of the series just dropped.

Man, you guys better not be playing the scrub version of Super Meat Boy with the gutted soundtrack.

But there are achievements for beating each Dark World area without dying. Which is ridiculous. I think I stopped in the middle of the 4th Dark World..

I 'completed' it on PC years ago (could never get the harder levels done) but am going through it again on the Vita. The platinum is fucking ridiculous... but what a true platinum should be - a badge of honour for achieving everything within the game.

I turned the music off because it was annoyingly repetitive, a thing I almost never do, so maybe it's the bad version (PS4).

The new version really needs the ability to alternate between original and new soundtracks!

Legal problems with the original soundtrack which meant it couldn't be used.

Well the one they went with sucks. Not even remotely close to the original.

I don't think they could even try imitate the original one to be honest because of the legal issues. The talent they had was there, so the fact that the score that results doesn't match up is a bother.

Shovel Knight: Meh. It's okay. The style of humour cribs from Paper Mario 2, right down to the dialogue appearing in wavy and shaky text, but it's not funny. I'm refunding it and getting Binding of Isaac Rebirth instead.

I just noticed I bought the original game on Christmas Eve last year LOL!!!!!

Anyone played Xeodrifter? I'm trying to find the second last (I think) boss but I can't see where to go. It's just after you get the vertical jet boost skill thing (from the boss fight that's done in the background phase after you get the dash skill)

Loved it. Have finished it now. Controls took a little getting used to but the power ups were fun and the "metroidvania" bit well designed. Shame each boss was the same with new moves however this also worked in its favour keeping things flowing and interesting for me. Took around 2 or 3 hours to complete. Exploring the areas a little more now to find all the extra health and weapon power ups :)

The bit between the first and second boss was a little offputting as it was long and the no checkpoint thing made death feel more punishing. After that you get your first couple of weapon upgrades though so you can start to play with that to make things easier. I put all mine into speed then power. Didn't bother with spread, or wave, or whatever the first one was.

Decent music, well done graphics, fun to play. All around enjoyable. Played on Vita and got it for free. Would probably be happy if I'd spent $5-$10 on it though.

Now back to the Binding of Isaac which is much more challenging :)
