I don't particularly care for storing stuff either. Because I'm more likely to store useless shit in there and never take anything out. I liked how Torchlight worked where your companion could hold stuff and head back to town to sell it for you.

I could probably try to hoard less. I never use any of the food that I pick up as it only restores about 5 hp. Next time I play I'll see what changes I can make.

Yakuza 5 is a 25GB download and you need about double that to install :ono:

I couldn't free enough space on my old 60GB PS3, but I think the PS3 slim has double that. I just hope I can find where I packed it away.

The opening of Episode 2 with the General is hilarious.
Ehhhh. It didn't really work for me, possibly because this post made it obvious on the General's arrival that something was gonna happen.

I'm replaying Dark Souls 2 to play the DLC content. This game kinda sucks once you no longer have the thrill of discovery and you're left with the mediocre game mechanics and mediocre everything else. Hopefully I'll have fun once I reach the new stuff.

EDIT: "It sucks" is an exaggeration. It's fine. But it's interesting how differently Bloodborne and DS2 branched out from Dark Souls. BB has more compact environments, tighter controls, more elegant combat and a unique vision. DS2 is bigger to the point of bloating, less refined and unimaginative.

The DLC is excruciatingly shit. I haven't had a single pleasant moment; it's just a gauntlet of shitty enemies and even shittier enemy placement. The latter is exclusively designed to artificially raise the difficulty: it just dicks you around, there's no balance, no elegance.

That's true of DS2 altogether, I'm realizing. If it was its own franchise, it'd be a decent but unmemorable game, like a 7.2/10. But it's part of the Souls series and this is an unconscionable travesty. I think the major problem I have with this game is that, when I played Dark Souls or Bloodborne and failed, I had faith that the fault was mine, and this generally proved to be the case as I learned new things. I went into DS2 with that same faith, but so much of my failure arises from its own shitiness. It's just a dick of a game that jumps at the opportunity to do dicky things like have enemies emerge only once you've passed them, pack an area with projectile enemies to sap it of joy, or stack a room with enemies to artificially raise the difficulty.

I finished off Saints Row IV on PS4. It was as fun as when I last played it. While the game is a bit light on story, the game play is a lot of fun (a cross between previous SR games and the movement from Prototype and Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction).

I moved on to the DLC, which was a bit mediocre. They didn't really add much game play wise, and the story is a bit thin.

The first one, "Enter the Dominatrix", seems to pull together some of the material that didn't make the cut back when SR4 was just DLC for SR3. You get the Dominatrix character that didn't appear in SR4 plus some scenes that contradict what happened in the main game, all held together with a kind of retrospective "behind the scenes" documentary with the characters. With the small number of appearances, the Dominatrix isn't a particularly interesting character: rather just being an excuse to fight waves of people in bondage gear.

The second one, "How the Saints Save Christmas", had even fewer missions. What was a bit annoying was that the story in the "text adventure" (really just a bit of prose, since there are no real branches or choices) seemed like it would have made a pretty interesting set of missions compared to what was actually in the DLC.

I guess some of this can be attributed to cost cutting at THQ as they were trying to stave off bankruptcy.

Hellishly addicted to the Portal table in Zen Pinball 2! Such a nice mix of styles with a decent flow and loads of game suited humour!

To be fair all of the Souls games have these moments. DS2 does it more than the others for sure but it's not like Dark Souls 1 or Bloodborne is exempt from these.

Dark Souls pulls some nasty stuff, especially in Sen's Fortress, Blighttown, Anor Londo, Duke's Archives, the Catacombs... This list is longer than I thought it would be. But it happens rarely enough that you don't enter new areas dreading that something is going to pop up behind you or annoy you with projectiles. In DS2 I'm often on guard for these things and can't relax, especially in Iron King, which is abusing these tactics like crazy. (For the record, I'm struggling to think of a dick move in Bloodborne's design beyond the singing nightmare aliens...but then, they are a beautiful, terrifying enemy, the scariest in any Souls game alongside those long-haired freaks in the chalice dungeons).

Another thing I hate is how enemies will chase you across the map instead of remaining in a zone. It might be acceptable if they didn't break the mist door animation by attacking you, but they do. Oh, and it's ridiculously hard not to get hit in some of its bonfire-to-boss runs. Bloodborne has a bunch of meticulously conceived lantern-to-boss runs that are thrilling and nevertheless easy to complete unscathed, and the enemies leave you alone once you're outside the mist door. I don't think they even thought about it in DS2. Admittedly, they didn't think about it in DS1.

Pretty much anything to do with Frenzy in Bloodborne was bullshit, and a few of the hunter NPCs you had to fight too.

I've managed to find one match so far. Me vs two others (plant the bomb). On the plus side it has made my KD ratio look good... for about the only time it ever has!

Nah, not in the mood to pay money for a beta of a F2P game.
Fuck_Giver.exe has stopped working!
Does it matter how I write the truth?
