Chrono Trigger is really good and I'm happily enjoying it. I also started playing Super Castlevania IV, having never really played a Castlevania game before but figured it would kinda be up my alley since I enjoy Dark Souls. It's pretty cool also. Also currently replaying Metro Last Light. It's also pretty awesome, though I think it isn't as well paced as 2033. |

Well 4 is a linear level based game. I am interested in trying to emulate SotN down the road, as it does look pretty cool. But not before I play Super Metroid. |

Been playing Rare Replay for the past week. Nice to try out the classic games I never played, some are good while others are terrible. Emphasis the point that Rare really started hitting their peak with the SNES. |

I did, but I thought that one might have been too obvious so the game would put it on the other side to troll you when you try to avoid it. I overthink things like that. |

My copy arrived a couple of days ago. Popped the disc in the drive andgrabbed the kids... Pressed X on the game but nothing happened. Thought maybe it was installing but couldn't see how to ascertain that. Searched online and found that it was probably downloading additional content. Also found online that the best way to view this was the queued section in apps. Couldn't find "apps" so back to Google to find out how. Find it and see there're a bunch of updates queued. Scroll through and am then prompted to prove that I own some software. It doesn't tell me what it is so I have to select the option to open the app in the app store... Learn that it wants Kinect Sports. ![]() Weird. So it wouldn't download anything else in the queue until the first, non removable item, was cleared. Put the disc in and it then prompted me to prove I owned Dead Rising 3. Long story short I got it downloading however there were a heap of 6gb items so I just left it running and went back to Destiny. ![]() Remind me again why anyone thinks this interface is good? I shouldn't have to Google to find out why my system isn't performing. 1. Use notification messages instead of just beeping and not doing anything when waiting for something to download 2. When a notification message does finally appear, provide decent info rather than a generic error code that requires further research to learn what it's trying to ask for 3. Why does one games failed update block an entire queue Guess this rant was more suited to the venting thread :/ |

You must not have used your XB1 much. ![]() Everytime you start a game that needs an update, it takes you to the queue page, lol. You need to be online when you first install a game, many will have updates day 1 or soon after. The big updates was all the 360 games. For each game I play I just press the right black button, it gives you links to everything for the game including store content (I always quit out of a game or app this way). I have actually finished all of the classic games as well as KI Gold. Did around three quarters of the snapshots, some of very hard (these you cannot use rewind on). I am close to half way on Grabbed by the Ghoulies. That leaves me Jet Force Gemini (which I have never played before), Conker and the awesome Blast Corps. They might add some games in the future (no SNES games, both Killer Instinct games already on XB1). They opened up a new game store in my local Westfield and they sell 2nd hand game hardware and software (also phones and heaps of movies). Some of their prices are less than half of what EB sells them and they even have PS2 games. They are called CeX. Funny thing is the store looks very much like GAME, which had a store just 10 stores further. |

lel wrong thread. Anyway, been playing Invisible Inc. It's mechanically great as a turn based, XCOM-ish rogue-lite with a more stealth focus. As much as I thought I hate %'s in turn based games. Once you come across a game where things are guaranteed, you do feel the loss of tension when it comes to actual decision making and risk-taking. But Invisible Inc makes that up with the time pressure mechanic making the simplest of approaches a choice in commitment, giving every turn alot of weight. While it's quite challenging, it seems rather... short? I never thought I'd want a game to have more filler. While the campaign does have the right amount of pacing and scaling of challenge, I feel that the game could do more in providing that sense of Useless Turd > Superhero progression that XCOM has, here in Invisible Inc, since it is a stealth focused game, you're quite effective from the get go due to how well the mechanics work and progression seems so minor, involving an item or mostly uninteresting character upgrades. |

I love the way it builds tension on the longer assignments. Quite a few times I took too long playing the safety route at the start so, by the time I neared the end, I had a shit tonne of guards and cameras between me and the exit. Didn't have a choice but to play a more reckless game... which usually ended up in a mission restart

Yeah, the game's procedural generation can be abit brutal sometimes, even with how the campaign is structured (eg, not rolling a detention centre, or having locations spread out) can leave you boned. I've come across impossible situations before with odd patrol routes with no hiding spots available. Thpugh, never had anything crazy blocking an extraction point. Edit: I forgot, I beat the standard difficulty yesterday. The last mission was incredibly stressful, ended up losing 3 agents and was sitting at a security level of 5. It was like playing through the end of that whale/dock XCOM:EW mission all over again. Edited by Red Panda, Aug 22 2015, 06:31 PM.

Played episode one of Life is Strange and have mixed feelings, though the positives outweigh the negatives. The negatives are the lame soundtrack, chic dialogue and the rewind system being difficult to control with precision. The story is building nicely, though the drama is more interesting than the characters, none of who stick out. What I liked most was just walking around the school and taking everything in. |

I'm trying to recall what happened in episode 1. Wasnt there an RV in the carpark of Blackwell? Not sure why it was there, I think I recall that there was an achievement related to interacting with it and taking one of the optional photos. Im guessing you went ahead and triggered the scene with Warren/Nathan/Chloe and missed that it was there. But pretty much the best thing the game offers is just the exposition the game presents with just walking around, interacting and observing things. Also, lame soundtrack? Q_Q.
