The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter. One of the best looking games I've played off the bat and it's certainly a very intriguing start.
Sigh, yeah, this game isn't very good. You spend so much time wandering around looking for shit, it really just feels like a glorified pixel hunter a lot of the time. I think my biggest issue with it is the save system, which is a steaming mountain of dog feces. It's just absolutely unclear as to what it's saved at all, totally ignoring the glaring issue that I'm not allowed to just save where and when I want to because I might need to leave. When you've collected two items needed to trigger one of the chronological puzzles, and the game tells you it's saved, I fucking goddamn well expect that if I quit at that point that I'll have those two items when I come back. When I come back and those two items are just gone, you can go fuck yourself, game. It's a damn shame, because I think this is the most picturesque games I've ever played, and the set up was very immediately engaging for me. But, unfortunately, the effective pacing is just balls and the save system is unacceptable.

You know, this really pisses me off more than it should, because it feels like an emerging trend. It seems that very often when I stray from the tried and true FPS, RPG, Sandbox and action games I love so much I have experiences where there's some really wonderful groundwork that's just ruined because of some stupid, irritating flaw/s. The stuff I usually stick to playing seems to have mastered video game functionality so much better that I'm spoilt and have no patience for dumb little things like that anymore. I think I've also just lost patience (in most cases, it depends) on games where you spend a lot of time trying to progress past a singular roadblock. I'm so used to games keeping up a pace of doing new stuff and moving forwards that getting stuck for 30 mins looking for a single item just feels ridiculous and is the antithesis of what I want from gaming. So, basically, I'm trying something new and refreshing but disliking it in so many cases due to it's very nature and flaws.

Cool. Well, definitely give that a shot after Second Son. Second Son is alright, but First Light is much much better.

I found first light to be a bunch of boring fetch quests. It didn't keep me interested for more than an hour or so

My experience with The Shittening of Ethan Farter was basically the same Curt. Initially drawn to it but quickly let down and eventually frustrated. I hate the ending. The idea itself is okay, but the way it's executed is so stupid!

I really don't like the lack of boundaries in it, it's far too easy to wander off past where you need to be.

Earthbound's the kind of game I wish I'd played as a child. I have similar feelings about Chrono Trigger.

Is that a pun Tim?

Started on Rocket League last night whilst I waited for Batman: Arkham Knight to install. Holy shit this game is a lot of fun. Really impressive. I'd written it off as being awful, but it's quite good.

Got Rocket League as well, since so many friends got it. Kinda wish there was a 3 pack bundle or something

But the controls and feel of this game is godly.

Yeah, haha. That kinda surprised me. Don't know if that's just what they do with all the negative reviews they get or not.

Not sure if they could actually substantiate the claim that's it's only 1% of users that get stuttering, not really sure how how they could have such a number. No comment about gameplay criticism though, lel.

I have it on PC.

The multiplayer servers are shared between PS4/PC users
