Picked up Wolfenstein and the old blood DLC for cheap on Greenman gaming for $16US last night. Im thinking of getting the Evil Within now for $12US today but am unsure about it.

Can anyone recommend it? I do love Resident Evil series so ill probably enjoy this, right?
Hmmm. I played a few chapters and enjoyed it but I did stop playing. There were a few things that were annoying me.

It is more of a return to survival horror. You have pretty limited ammo and items and the story so far (from what I played) is ambiguous enough to make it fit into the supernatural category.

For $12 tho I'd say it's worth a shot, even if you only get a few hours out of it it's pretty good value at that price

So long as you're OK with a pretty shitty story then it's well worth the $12. I picked it up for full price last year and was happy with the purchase. Great RE4 style gameplay favouring survival over action, and the story can actually be quite funny at times because of how bad it is.

Make sure you play through The Old Blood first - it's good, but not great. Then you'll be really impressed with The New Order as it leads almost directly into that.

Is it necessary / highly recommended to play The Old Blood first? I own The New Order but I have to wait to upgrade my CPU to play it anyway.

Not really. It's a good game with good mechanics but has an average story. One of The New Order's great things is its story, something The Old Blood doesn't have. My reviews here: http://www.anotherdungeon.com/wolfenstein-the-old-blood/review/

Oh, so it's just the story. Phew, I was worried it was something that mattered.

Yeah didnt end up buying Evil Within, I think the game is still one that I could enjoy based on what you guys told me plus the reviews I watched but it came down to a financial decision at the end. I still need a new GPU to play games on PC and there isnt much point spending on games unless I cannot play them. Despite the fact that I picked up Wolfenstein.

I think with Wolfenstein the cheap DLC sold me over where the season pass stuff with Evil Within was still relatively expensive, more than the game itself.

Bought Rocket League today and got hooked instantly. Just played a couple of hours worth and had a blast. I was a bit wary of all the buzz surrounding it right now, it's a little low on content as there is only the one game mode, the arenas are all the same layout. There are 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 match types plus ranked matches.

But it's so well designed and put together that none of that really matters at the moment. I'm not sure exactly what it is that makes it special, because on the surface it's not. But I guess it's just a mix of how it has all come together that makes it so much fun. It moves fast, it controls really well, and the physics are just right. It simply has a great feel to it. Plus it's real quick to get a match going.

It's $20 on Steam at the moment (which is admittedly a little steep for the amount of content) and it's also free right now for PS Plus on PS4.

I still hope they'll be adding more in future updates but for now it's heaps of fun.

Resident Evil 5, meh. Not going to bother with this. Dead Space is a lot better.

The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter. One of the best looking games I've played off the bat and it's certainly a very intriguing start.

I'd forgotten how spontaneous the Mother games feel. It's like the creators rolled with the first idea that came to their head, meaning you have to defeat a factory full of talking barf to reach the leader of barf, who also controls the zombies that you previously defeated by sticking zombie paper all over the circus floor to trap them. It feels like something a child would imagine, which isn't to say that it's childish. It totally works.

Started on Hatoful Boyfriend this morning and there's a fan tailed pigeon I've really fallen in love with. Let's see where it goes from here...

Started Infamous second son, unsure about my feelings towards it. In some regards its a step back from previous installments.
