I didnt think Ori & the Blind Forest would be this hard. The tree escape sequence was tough, but it's such a great platforming sequence and it was so satisfying after I beat it. I'm loving it so far. It's shaping up to be the best 2D platformers since Super Meat Boy if it continues its excellence.

If there is one nitpick I have is that some of the hazards, particularly some of the spikes have a collision area larger than what you visually see, it's nothing major, but for a the precision this game demands, it can be noticeable at times and impact your execution.

From the Steam Sale I got:

Homeword: Remastered
Grow Home
Ori & The Blind Forest
Walking Dead Season 2
Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions
Revolver360 Re:Actor

I should go back to playing that. I played it while it was in Early Access and never got around to playing the fully released version yet. Kinda regret spoiling the experience before it was even out.

That's why I stopped playing Darkest Dungeon. Was worried I'd play my fill on the unfinished version and not play the fully released one. Enjoyed it very much though

Stuck finding the Ginso tree. Called it a night but googled it already and I think I know where I need to go. Spent 30 minutes wandering around trying to figure out where the hell I hadn't been. Kinda hate that about these games.

It's part of the game though and I like that aspect of these games. I just wish they would sometimes give me a little hint (or more of a 'look over in this general direction, dicknuts') as it would save me a lot of frustration.

Isnt there a circle on the map showing you where to go? I only had a navigation issue after that ginso tree as the marker (big circle thing) on the map pointed west but there were 2 subdivided areas that lead to that way.

I was trying to move toward it but each path led to a barrier of some sort that I couldn't get through.

So I ran all over the map thinking I missed a new ability or something from one of those trees.

From what I read, I think I missed a movable boulder that leads to the objective. Looking forward to getting back into it tonight.

Switched phones to an iPhone yesterday and started playing two great games

rymdkapsel
Not sure why they namked it that but it's an addictive fun game. Basically a little simulator where you manage resources and grow your base. Discovering new areas (while ensuring you don't run out of supplies) and defending against baddies. So simple in design yet so fun.

Fallout Shelter
I'm sure this will be short lived but it's fun enough micro managing these guys and has style coming out the wazoo!

Ha, haven't gotten to that yet. Made it to the tree last night. Just before it there's a boulder that you need to move to let you into the tunnel that goes to a game save well. Didn't think to pull the boulder out so I could go up to get to the tree.

But yeah just got the slam ability and I assume this escape is coming up soon.

Also some of the performing on and under that tree is wacky. It was quite satisfying to get through it.

Assassin's Creed 4 is pretty fun, quite enjoying myself. It's very different from the first two. Makes sense since I skipped 3 sequels from 2 to this one. The pirate focus is must not have only been a huge breath of fresh air for the people who actually bought all those sequels, but it's just fun. Unfortunately the PC version doesn't seem to particularly well optimised. My CPU and GPU usage don't go above 60% percent or so, and it's not like I'm getting a rock solid 60fps either. Don't know what that's about, never played a game that refused to use my hardware before...

I can honestly see myself giving Assassin's Creed Rogue a shot since to my understanding that port was a lot better and it has the naval gameplay.

Was thinking about pulling the trigger on Batman today but I'm going to wait as I've heard that the PC version is kinda fucked up right now. Bit of a shame considering the good run PC games have had for the last couple of years.

Assassins Creed is dead to me since completing the 3rd game. I'm just burnt out with them and have no incentive to continue on with the following installments.

I enjoyed the first two (thought 2 was better overall, 1st was decent) but neither really left that big of an impression on me, and I just never bothered. Especially because after 2 was when they turned the series into a total cash cow and released too many damn sequels. But 4, it's actually pretty damn cool. I don't think I've ever played a pirate game before, and this one is quite good. All of the ship stuff, especially the combat, just makes it feel so much more varied than 1 or 2.

Spoke too quickly on this I think. Uninstalling AC4 after 22 hours due to boredom and the quite frankly totally unwanted Assassin part of the game rearing it's ugly head. I just want to be a pirate! I don't care about your ideals or creed, I just want to amass gold, power, and an awesome ship. Even that has lost it's charm, it's definitely fun but it's now just repetitious. The poor performance of the game got more annoying the more I played, too. It really is a sub-par port, but hey, it's not like I was playing Arkham Knight. But overall, this honestly would have been a better game if the Assassin's Creed part of it had just fucked off. The combat by comparison to The Witcher 3 and any of the Batman Arkham games is bad. The assassinations are boring and totally uninspired. The tired cycle of "climb to the top of these things to unfog the map" is just arduous because you're doing it on the most unimpressive structures imaginable half the time. On certain islands you literally just climb up a particular tree! It's so forced. The modern day Abstergo shit is just a snore as well. If all that shit was just cut and they made the general pirate experience deeper it would have been cool as fuck. Honestly, Ubisoft should make a balls to the wall straight up pirate game.

But anyway... man, Assassin's Creed really is such a tired series. Who the fuck is buying these endless sequels? Even me coming into 4 with so many news things from 2 couldn't hold my attention for it's full duration. Still got over 20 hours of relative enjoyment for $10 though, so I can't exactly say it was a bad experience.
